Is anyone surprised Floyd is allowing Manny to wear his own choice of gloves?

    It's supposed to be in the contract that Manny can wear his usual Cleto Reyes gloves (apparently known as 'puncher's gloves') and Floyd will wear Grant brand, which provides extra padding for the knuckles.

    Anyone else surprised considering the fuss he kicked up about Maidana wanting to use thinly-padded Everlast MX gloves? Didn't he offer him more money to switch to Powerlocks?

    Maidana was not paid any extra money, and powerlock is still a punchers glove. Furthermore, the only reason Mayweather had a problem with Maidana's gloves is because originally tried to use gloves that Mayweather deemed had too little padding. So out of the 40 something fighters Mayweather has fought, he has only had a problem with the gloves of one of them. Despite this, we're supposed to be surprised that he's not worried about Pacquiao's gloves? Also, Pacquiao has way more clout than Maidana and wouldn't allow Mayweather to dictate the gloves he wears.

    Maidanas gloves were deemed illegal by the commision floyd obviously wanted to punish maidana and his team for attempting to pull a fast one

    Pac is 10 times the fighter chino is and floyd has no issues letting pac using his prefered cleto reyes

    floyd would be reprimanded by his boss les moonves. the backlash would be deafening. floyd is scared of the public backlash

    This is exactly what it is^^^ i dont understand why people dont see this....trust was broken its as simple as that, this is boxing its a brutal sport...people die in the ring man... these are facts..

    I am very surprised I expected Floyd to make the negotiation difficult and demand for everything at his advantage (whether real or psychological).

    So kudos to Floyd.
