Purrity had a really, really good chin. Wlad punched himself out trying to please the crowd. Simple.

As a Wlad fan, I know he has a suspect chin vs Power punchers. Most heavyweights are in the same boat. Wlad's chin is a little under rated. He has been hit flush a few times since his last defeat and took it well.

Its been 10 years since he has been floored, which is a record among lineal heavyweight champions.

I think the reason he was floored in the past was part mental, and somewhat related to balance. Wlad always got up. He was never 10 counted like Lwwis

See, its easy to be honest. Here's what most critics miss. Wlad's defense is very good. At 6'6" you have to reach up there to tag it. He's got a high guard that limits hooks. His judgement of judgement of distance and footwork to keep it are excellent. His focus in the ring is excellent. No concentration lapses. His jab alone can keep the other guy on the defensive. If needed he's a skillful clincher with great size and strength. His detractors can moan about his clinching ( Ali was even worse ) but the other guy falls into the trap and can not escape.

Once Wlad's opponents feel his power 90% their attacking plans go out the window and they cover up and look to counter.

Not at all. Wlad was unraveling after the 7th. His out put was well gone by the 9th.

When you are 8-0 like Kirk Johnson was when he beat Purrity , it doesn't matter Wlad fought him at 12 rounds instead of 10.

Purrity was a journey man. If you can't go another extra two rounds against such a poor opponent , thats fully on Wlad.

Purrity was brought over on short notice and barely had a training camp. Wlads, stamina, composure , chin , survival instincts , defense and around all boxing skill lost him the fight.
Purrity made him tired. Purrity was the winner. Its more damaging taking shots then it is throwing them.
Tyson Fury as a 16 fight novice has shown better stamina against Chisora than Wlad has in his whole career.
Wlad leans on guys for half of every round and you think his stamina has improved.
His stamina went down the tube against Haye and Haye almost knocked him out for it.
And Haye is known for poor stamina himself.

Wach was just a punch bag. A non skilled club fighter. If Wlad had the gas tank to string punches together , he could have scored a stoppage win. But Wlad knows himself he doesn't and thats why he pot shotted single shots all night.

I could list a number of non greats who would shatter Wlad. We're not looking at a great fighter here.

    Dino, Dino, Dino,

I could give you information all day long, but why should I? If you think Wlad is not a great fighter, history, his record, his opponents, the hall of fame, the media, and most objective people here disagree with you.

If you have been champion for many years, and are currently #2 in pound for pound ratings, you are a great fighter.

    Geez...

I evaluated his career , starting from when i once had no quarrel with him and decided for myself.

Being ranked in the Ring p4p rankings doesn't make you a great fighter.

Glencof Johnson was once ranked in the p4p top 10.

Most will agree that Wlad has no right being p4p #2.

I'd go with Joe Louis. If he doesn't get the job done, I don't think anybody could.

And yes, I'm aware that once upon time, Wlad fought like an idiot and got stopped by journeymen. But I believe Wlad has proved himself better than that in this decade long reign.

Wlad's chin hasn't improved he has adapted his style to protect it. I would pick plenty of guys to ko him and they would not have to be ATG's. I'd give Ruddock and Morrison outside chances of turning the trick.

I think this "wlad" is the most ass-licked man on the earth.Stupid excuses
again and again by his subjective fans.
Because the klitschkos weren't impressive (haha!) against Puritty this
doesn't mean "Puri" has a good chin.
The superhuman "wlad" couldn't knock out the glass-chinned Haye.
    What does it mean?
Now is Haye an iron-chinned fighter ?
    I doubt it.

Baer would be difficult for Wlad at his best I think. Extremely aggressive, huge puncher, iron chin.

"Puri's" chin never destroyed "wlad". You sucked this.
Was the crowd happy after wlad's performance ?
I can imagine this big pleasure when a bum destroyed wlad.
Otherwise i can imagine bigger happines than this "Wlad punched
    himself out" action.

If having a big punch is all it took, then you'd have to give David Bey a chance at beating him as well. But obviously its not that simple. Haye, Povetkin, Peter and several others could all crack yet none of them turned the trick.
