I will Go with Ken Buchanan. Alexis was a textbook fighter, incredible power and combinations.

Kenny was rather unorthodox, and could mix it up, he had a chin of Iron. Cutey boxer with some toughness. I see him winning with his superior movement, his jab will get to AA, I see pretty even exchanges ,with AA getting the edge in them, but Kenny winning at range the majority of the fight.

    Neither fighter goes down....

    Kenny by UD.

I like this pick, though I could also see Arguello getting to him. He did tend to be a little wooden at 135 though, and Buchanan would be able to move around him and pick his spots in a way others Alexis fought at that weight could not.

i thought i'd be the odd man out picking buchanan.

I'm pretty sure arguello would/should be the betting fav tho.

Yes, and as much as I love AA, this would have been Kenny's defining fight had it taken place. Buchanan would fight the smartest fight of his life...and win a decision 10-5...and likewise, no kds would occur.

I agree with this...but Arguello just might reel him in late. Buchanan was touched against Ruben Navarro, and Arguello is very accurate, excellent timing, and hit sooooo much harder. Body shots have a way of evening things out.

Buchanan was a beast in the late roundsat his peak.Cyborg stamina and toughness-though he was vulnerable to a flash knockdown if he could be timed with a stepped in right hand because of his bouncing footwork and weird defensive angles.

I tend to think he's one of the very few who wouldn't particularly struggle late against Arguello.Though having an iron chin and being Arguello-proof are two different things mind you....but overall i'd be a lot less surprised to just see Buchanan stay a step ahead and shrug off the occasional big shot than i would if Arguello laid him out or had him worn down by the last third.

Yes, got to go with the Tartan Twirler on this one , ken was Mobility Nobility - More Bounce per Ounce than most, and if maneuvered against the ropes he never found them a spiders web he'd bob up and down jink left and right then spin out like in a blur of Tartan, leaving the pursuer fanning the air... Then Ken would quite often then underline his escape by kicking up his heels in a little Jig in the centre of the ring then coming back with a burst of Jabbing to 'Punch'uate the fact...

Whilst i've always had my suspicions That Alexis stayed in cruise control against Jim Watt on Watts Home Turf.. he would be meeting something entirely different here , and Ken traveled well so a fight in the States would hold no advantage to Alexis, when Ken was beaten it was by that crude wild Kid from Panama, Unpredictable and Rule-Bending...But Alexis had a straight up very Cultured No-Waste Style, Ken would have an easier time Mapping Alexis, than Alexis would Ken

In the Final ****ysis if , If Vilomar Fernandez could emerge from a meeting with Alexis with his Hand Held Aloft.... Then Logic tells me So could Buchanan... This is not Beyond His Ken !

Hi Red - Thank you kindly, I think Ken was one of those rare Talents that should of had a clear run at establishing himself as a great, Although the same could be said by Dejusus fans... Damn that wild Kid from the backstreets of Panama ! I suppose it would of come down to Ken and Esteban and thats another Major Headscrather !

I'd have to go with KB here. Can't see AA setting that relentless pace Duran set against Ken, and that would be the difference, Buchanan wouldn't be taken out of his rhythm.

I am a big fan of both men, Ken was a excellent boxer with decent power and Arguello had his very good jab followed by strait right hand rockets and a beaut of a hook and AA has the power edge but ken was gritty and rugged and had good movement....I see Ken squeaking out a close UD or SD but late rds 10-15 could get rugged and some bruising and possible cuts or swelling but Duran had to go low to get the stop...Ken was gritty

What a fight that would be, Dejesus and Ken Buchanan.

These two men are amazing, without Duran ( atg top 5?) they would be much more well known.
