Great point regarding Cooper! Galento had real power which gets overlooked due to his squat build.

No, He went in with a broken hand barley holding together ,and he shattered it at the end of round 2.

    Not common knowledge.

I have to agree that you would have to consider other fights as Louis's best win.

    Based on what?

Joe Louis was never stopped without taking a ton of punishment.

Tua was a dynamite puncher, and a decent finisher, but he never really stopped anybody who could hang in the top end of the rankings.

Louis never bear a good Samoan fighter in his life.

Yeah? And when did Louis ever go up against an " elite " 6' 5" over 240lb guy?

Come to that it is generally accepted he was losing to Billy Conn until the latter got c*cky and tried to slug it out with Joe. So who exactly did Louis fight as elite and " elusive " as Byrd.

That's the trouble with people who live in a fantasy world of revisionist nostalgia, they totally lose all sense of reality. Some of you have got Louis down as being as elusive as Ali, with the hand speed of Tyson, and the power of a Foreman, Lewis, or Vlad K.

    It is laughable.

Nearly as dumb as posting amateur fights as evidence to what would happen...
