I only read the Sunday Times, it didn't make that paper.
I don't recall it being a monster smash in the Ring magazine either.:think

Well Perez did end the career of noted amateur and power puncher Magomed Absalamov who was 18-0 (18) Ko's.
Perez himself is a highly decorated amateur that many promotional companies pursued upon his defection. His second best "win" would be probably be journey man Tye Fields a one time hype job and Travis Walker a solid trial horse who has fought everyone.
Perez also fought the quality Carlos Takam to a draw and was a point deduction himself from also holding Jennings to a draw.
Artur Szpilka best wins are probably the shop worn tomasz Adamek, or Jameel Mccline or Brian Minto. All well seasoned veterans that while shot are good matchups for a fighter with a limited amateur background.

I would agree and disagree. The model of the sport has changed one loss at heavyweight in today's market can really damage a career. For only 19 fights I think Jennings competition has been fair. Up until Wilder's fight with Stiverne, Jenning's resume was far superior to Wilder's who has had 33 professional fights.
If there were more heavyweight fights on tv I would think the action would pick up also if the belts were not controlled by one fighter for a decade the round robin effect would take place and these guys under Wlad could showcase more of themselves. Wlad's reign is beginning to mirror Holmes in the 80s fighting guys like Marvis Frazier and a Witherspoon talented guys with limited experience. Look what happened to David Price's career because he actually tried to step up. That result scares a lot of management teams. The "0" has become too valuable. It stagnates the divsion. None of which of course is Wlad's fault. Looking at the Ring top ten this month- he holds win over the # 1, 4, 9, 10 (2x) and is fighting the #5 in a week.

Wtf are you spewing out here?

Tucker did NOTHING like destroy Douglas in the fight before Tyson you fool. The fight was dead even on the cards, when for no apparent reason James turned it in. It was a fight that was totally winnable for Douglas, his own father turned on him saying " he quit like a dog "

Rid**** Bowe of the first Holyfield fight and his fight Jorge Luis Gonzales would crush W. Klit.

Lamon Brewster. A better thread would be "Send in an ATG to KO a Fighter who's never been off his feet." Like Frazier and Foreman did to Chuvalo or Robinson did to LaMotta.

    Who was Jorge L Gonzales?

Was that the fat dude who pecked an ancient Mister Snipes to a stoppage? If so, that's a monumental testament to Mr. Bowe's abilities.

I would agree the emphasis is on remaining unbeaten but most anyone can stay undefeated if they are not tested against fighters of any quality.

The ratings of the various alphabet boys mean very little to me,as far as I'm concerned Jennings,Perez,, and many of the opponents I've mentioned on this thread Wach ,Pianeta,Leapai etc were/are untested and hence unworthy to challenge for a world title.
If punters are happy to watch these hyped challengers become another scalp on the Klit belt then fade into obscurity ,so be it,there's nothing I can do about that except not pay to watch their crude efforts.
If Wlad makes 30 successful defences ,[and against that calibre of opposition he may ,]it won't change my opinion of the cynical manipulation of the title.

One of those mentioned best win is over a 41 years old Jameel McCline.
