But when you communicate with someone over their multiple email addresses you still know who you're talking to.

I think most people have more than one email address one for work others for friends and family ext.

Yes I agree you may know who you are talking to but say you you met someone and gave them one email address do you have to give the other one as well?

Having more than one name here is not breaking the rules at all.

In theory I could have made every post in this thread and nobody would be any the wiser. It would be weird of me to spend my time doing that but still... I think it defeats the point of the forum if someone is using multiple accounts to somehow lend credibility to their arguments. If it's being done specifically to troll while credibility is maintained on another account then that's bad too.

You seem to be very hung up on this not being against the rules. I didn't say it was breaking the rules, nobody has said that. What people are saying is that the rules are not adequate and should be updated.

And if you give someone one email address of course you do not have to give them the other. But if you gave them your work address and it was first_last at company they would probably know who they work talking to if they got an email from first_last at gmail. I know there are people out there who don't use their names in their email addresses. But the overwhelming majority of adults do for both work and personal.

Only a select few are complaining the majority is fine with how everything is this is what I am trying to point out.

Not everyone uses their names on email addresses and like I said if you had 2 email addresses would you give out both email addresses or would you just give one?

This all comes down to personal choice I think people are born moaners.

its simple 1 email address,1 account... you have to make another email address to sign up under another user name/account.... you cannot have multiple alts under the same email address..

I answered that question. I would give one. But if I contacted someone from my other address you would still know it was me. This has, in fact, happened to me quite a few times. I will send a work email from the office and then leave and create a new email to the person I've contacted from my phone not realizing that it's being sent from my personal account. Never run into any confusion before. They always know it's me.

What is the benefit of having users with multiple accounts on this forum? If it's just because it's the status quo then that's not a very good reason.

In my mind the pros are: raises accountability on an account, decreases instances of trolling, increases credibility of discussions and polls.

So you just admitted you created alts

Listen man people shouldn't talk when they themselves create multiple email addresses.
