There's the belt which is gonna be Canelo's in 2016, then there's the number of defenses coming with it.

But at 33 years old, GGG has plenty of time to wait in the back seat for his shot. :nut

Who knows, maybe 20 defenses against journeymen later, and at 40 years old.. the still young Canelo might give GGG a shot, if GGG has anything left.

I did, but you just can't read.

He's fighting Geale instead of Golovkin because he's had a very long year layoff after winning his belt. It was supposed to be Canelo, but certain circumstances prevented that fight from happening. Canelo instead fought Kirkland, and GGG management scheduled him a fight with some prospect(forgot his name). It was either K9 or Geale, and Cotto's management choose Geale because Geale is infact a top 5 middleweight and former champion.

My opinion on the matter is irrelevant, but do I think Martinez was 100 percent against Cotto? Of course not. Cotto definitely wasn't either. But who cherry picked who, and who won? That's the only thing that's relevant now, not crying over the past.

Can you ask me a question?

Why is GGG cheating the fans fighting weak competition and waiting for a paycheck against 2 shot Welterweights which he'll never get?

Why is he still at middleweight, when just up North there's plenty of p4p talent. Talent which will showcase the world his other worldly power and talent when he's STILL in his prime.

As a boxing and GGG fan, I'd like for him to get the recognition he deserves. I haven't seen a destructive force like his for a very long time. He's 33 years old, he needs to prove himself now, otherwise it'll be too late and he'll just be another Arthur Abraham.

The weirdo's defending Cotto are even bigger cowards than him.

Yes, we established Martinez wasn't the same fighter which everyone already knew. We also established Cotto wasn't the same fighter either, as evidence from his loss to Austin Trout, and the vicious beatings he got in his previous fights(at lower weight classes). Still doesn't change the fact that Cotto, who isn't a middleweight, knocked out and retired the lineal champ in Martinez. No if's and's or but's about it. That's what happened. And crying about it isn't going to change anything.

Nobody said we should do away with the division, wtf are you talking about? What point are you trying to make exactly? GGG is 33 years old fighting bums and waiting for paychecks against 2 shot Welterweights instead of testing himself against top level competition. You don't see the problem with that?

Of course GGG doesn't dance to my tune. I'm not asking him to. I'm not his manager just like you aren't Cotto's manager. You need to take your own advice and don't be a hypocrite. This is the same guy who scored the Dirrell-Froch fight for Froch simply because you don't like Dirrell.. :patsch:rofl

The only coward is GGG, who won't test himself despite all of his god given ability.

Instead, we have to watch him WAIT for a paycheck against a shot Welterweight.

Jesus Christ man, how can you guys even call yourself boxing fans.

I brought it up because you're a fanboy. It's useless and a waste of time having a debate with a fanboy, so we'll just have to agree to disagree and enjoy the upcoming fight with Matt vs Prov.

You want GGG to waste his prime at Middleweight fighting bums and waiting for an unrealistic fight with a shot Welterweight in 2017. That's cool.

I want GGG to test his God given talent and power against the best opponents possible while he's still in his prime.

Again, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

You are the one claiming: "There's absolutely nothing left for GGG at middleweight."

As I replied: There's Cotto and the belt Cotto holds and everybody knows it.

Then you went all stupid about things :nut

I don't buy there's nothin for GGG at middleweight ... I'd still like for him to fight Andly Lee and then wait for canelo to come up (as his days at 154 are numbered)
Plus cotto might find his manhood sometime soon

He doesn't even have all the belts yet. So yes, there are certainly reasons for GGG to remain at middleweight. Some people just can't handle his dominance unfortunately.

Awkward moment if Cotto KO's Golovkin if they actually fight. Would be quite the sight
