It had good moments Start End Roach scene Some Pacquiao clips Other than that it wasn't THAT GREAT...but showtimes was pretty ordinary..already forgot about it.
No ****. The skill it took to try to make Manny look like an intelligent individual that can tell strange a "last meal" joke that doesn't make too much sense and his blabbing of blood tests never being an issue. And of course pulling clips of Floyd acting crazy. Not to mention the Freddie Roach sob story. It was ****. It avoided all real issues with "speculation" as quoted from Bob. It was a lame attempt for support and sympathy.
Hbo has always been a step above quality then Showtime. Since hbo locked out golden boy and mayweather moved to Showtime, showtime has put on far better boxing matches then hbo. We've seen All Access and 24/7 show format a million times. Im not saying mayweather vs pacquiao at last was so much better then all access. It was a far fresher format to watch, it wasn't the same old thing we're used to. Its a nice change up and more is welcome. They both are doing the job, no since to copy the same show to promote the same fight.
the show was pro pacquiao and made every attempt to make and support the notion mayweather was ducking.
It's shocking that HBO, the best to ever do it, is better than anybody else. SHO's special was still very good, and hardly the puff piece that At Last was. It was impressive, but outside of the intro, it didn't do much other than do the same thing that Pacquiao fans do - Remind us that he was a poor kid once and super light and now he's an icon. I don't mind that story, but if you want to use decorative language, show both sides. HBO does a marvelous job at blowing things as big as they can be, but if there's another side, the second you start to think about the other side, this looks silly. They played at it in the beginning, saying that Floyd came from an upbringing where "Comfort in combat" was encouraged, and that was incredible. Then it was the Pacquiao and friends chased the chicken for years special. The Floyd SHO special dictated what happened, focused on Mayweather's journey, but because it wasn't as blown up and didn't really mention Pacquiao, it doesn't seem as absurd. Production quality was unrivaled, but of course it was. HBO is marvelous at that ****.
I enjoyed SHO's special more, and they still have 2 or 3 episodes left. I thought 'At Last' was boring and nothing we didn't already know. I think it's obvious that people are taking a sh*t on Showtime's production just because Floyd is associated with them.
Both shows had completely different purposes. I agree HBO's was better, but they had a single, 1 hour special to go over the history of negotiations. Showtime's shows are 4, 30 minute shows that will air before and 1 after the fight to give us week to week updates and suspense
HBO is superior to Showtime, i think most know this. having said this, At last wash;t exactly riveting, it was good but let's not exaggerate it.
I literally dont remember anything from the showtime special. It was like the other 100 floyd specials we`ve all seen. Floyd has the personality and charisma of a 2x4. One of the most unlikeable athletes ive ever seen and seeing as he has ZERO endorsement deals im obviously not alone in my opinion. Hes doing an interview with Stephen A this week and whats going to be the focus? His cars, mansions and wealth. Who gives a sh@t? Hes supposed to be this brilliant business man but when he speaks in interviews he doesnt seem all that sharp at all. His vocabulary is basic, never says anything really insightful and doesnt seem like he has much of a sense of humor. Laughs awkwardly at any levity thrown his way by interviewers and overall his interviews are just cringe worthy.
