    And Ward hasn't defended his belt for 19 months at the time the fight takes place. WBA doesn't care, as long as they like the person holding it.

    At least he's fighting again. But the only thing that intrigues me about this matchup is if he can still make the weight, because he wasn't even sure himself.

    Cotto is dragging Geale down, so why can't Ward drag Geale 11lbs up again right after that fight? :bart

    Hopefully, Ward fight someone relevant next. If he doesn't, I think even his last, most persistent fans will give up on him.

    All in all, Ward is three fights away from becoming an undisputed joke here at ESB, the fight with Smith included.

    Lets see what he wants to do.

    The man has been off for a year and a half. Smith will be a nice tune up for the champ.

    Let the man have a tune up then we can have the Froch rematch. you can't expect him to have a year and a half layoff and jump right into a fight with Froch. It's unrealistic to expect that.
