No he doesn't he doesn't have his jab or power.....someone mentioned Hearns since he's ineligible im going with uncle Roger, a mini Hearns with a big Righthand....
I give prime Rosario a shot at a KO against him.....my ultimate choice would be Arguello to KO Floyd especially between 130 and 135 where he still had his youth speed and timing....knowone at these weights has Alexis's power...
If a 135 pound Oscar had the good fortune of opening up a bad cut or breaking Floyd's nose he could possibly get a tko win. Nobody would knock him out and i doubt anyone would get a true accumulation stoppage.
If anyone could do it it would have to be arguello. It only takes 1 mistake against arguello. If he times you with that perfect right hand. Its ovah. Still think floyd would take a decision at his best but its winnable for arguello. He'd be effective putting on pressure on floyd. Kostya could have a decent shot too.
This idea that Floyd is too slick to get stopped is ridiculous. If Duran hurts Floyd, which I think he would, he'd very likely stopped him, because he was ruthless if he knew a fighter was hurt. It would be non stop pressure for as long as it took. SMM might also be able to hurt Floyd, he hurt him at 147 but that was far from the best version of SMM. I don't think someone could stop Floyd with one punch, but they could hurt him and if they were to get through his defense again they could finish him off.
If a WAY past his best SSM could almost drop him... a younger version might do the trick. Besides that, I'd only give Duran and Alexis marginal shots... like 30 %
Ohhh agreed... I wasn't saying SSM shot is better.. that comment was just directed at somebody who proposed him as a possibility.
Yeah, a Lightweight Mosley could bang, and was very fast handed, so I'd give him an excellent chance. Duran I'd give an even better chance than that. Mayweather would not have liked being forced to fight every second of every round, and that is what the 135 version of Duran forced guys to do.
ive been thinking on this for a couple days, duran is the obvious choice and probably the best bet, but younger floyd isn't a great style matchup for him so gimme a smaller ring and a leniant ref just to be sure.
There's a chance he could KO Floyd, but prime lightweight Duran had to go into the 14th round to stop Lou Bizarro and Ray Lampkin and Saoul Mamby and Edwin Viruet took him the 10 round distance in fairly close non-title fights. My gut feeling is that Floyd would last the distance, but Duran would outwork him to get the decision.
i'd agree with that, in all these threads i'm just saying the guy with the best chance, not who would certainley do it.
