Posting was the easy part. It was the editing that took time. ;)

And if you saw my "prediction scorecard", I did say that Floyd would deserve to win.

See, this is what I'm having trouble following, and I know you're not alone - many people agree with you, and I may well be in the minority.

I wasn't too surprised when Maidana beat Broner, although I figured Broner would beat Maidana. I think his performances against Floyd had more to do with Floyd than any perceived improvements made by Maidana under Garcia.

Although I'm open to having my mind changed depending on how Floyd looks against Pac, and how Maidana rebounds from those encounters.

Good video. In my opinion, you make some good points.

I tend to think that what Floyd say about "timing" could end up being a critical factor.... against him. If he's showing the same degrees of decline that he showed against Maidana in this fight, then I think he loses. Pacquaio sees this as a great opportunity and is very, very hungry for this fight. He has every reason to be.

Floyd Mayweather is going to need to turn the clock back a bit and show up as hungry as he was in the previously crucial moments in his career. Every time he had a major test, he rose to the occasion and won emphatically. This is a fight where Mayweather must be at his very best in order to win, imo. I think he himself realizes this.

We shall see how things unfold on next Saturday. Hopefully there's no controversy, as the entire world will be giving our sport the rightful attention it deserves on that night.

My prediction is that whoever wins the fight looses the decision. Yet i still love boxing

You make some strong points here, Scar. But nothing you say will convince me that Floyd's troubles stemmed from a style issue more so than the age factor. Floyd from 2 years earlier wipes the floor with Maidana, without being taxed nearly as hard as he was.

    :thumbsup

Fair play. We see the result of those match-ups stemming from largely different reasons.

By the end of this year, or early next, we should have a better idea maybe which played a bigger role.

Youre not a total burnout. You can still edit it, or even make another video before the fight, you got time (id love to hear your thoughts on Marquez influence on the fight)

You're just getting old mate, and we tend to forget more and remember less these days, but youre wearing it well

    :cheers

Off the top of my head, I think I gave Bernard rounds 1-4, 7, and 10, which I believe was the round where he bought himself a much needed breather that paid off.

That fight was close, and it IS the one fight that sold me completely on Calzaghe. Never before then had I seen someone outhustle and outwork Bernard in the championship rounds, where he normally excels. Putting that on the same level as Taylor 2 was BS on my part. :D

    I had Hopkins-Calzaghe 114-113 for Bernard.

Very good comparison, and one that seems so obvious to me now that you spelled out so nicely.

There are a lot of good parallels there.

My main reason for using the Hopkins-Pascal fight as a reference, was that I truly believe we are going to see a similar evolution of momentum.

I hope we don't hear his fans, a few weeks hence, telling us he fought the wrong fight.

    Certainly plausible! :good

Whatever happens, I just hope the best man wins with no BS, and I hope it entertains.

As always, thanks for the feedback!

I'm honestly (and respectfully) surprised so many see it otherwise.

I love it too, but twopiece said, that would be really bad for boxing on such a big stage, of the magnitude our sport rarely sees.

No, I am a total burnout. It's not age, it's the grass.

I do agree. His age forced him to withstand and handle Maidana's style while being on the ropes. Maidana sure does have the right style to trouble/beat Mayweather, but he's not an A class fighter to successfully apply it. :good

We should have answers to that and many more on May 2nd. One thing's for sure, both fighters will be dealing with styles/abilities they never dealt with before. Here's a fun picture to end this fun debacle.
