What a war! Such a timeless classic.

Anyone else seen it lately or just a big fan of it in general?

How would the fight go down with both men on their best day?

Can Lewis KO Vitali or not?

I love the super-skilled super-heavies, with all their superior silky smooth scintillating skills.
The athleticism ... Oh my word, the athleticism .... agility, poise, SKILLS ... and pure athleticism.

Good Lord these super-heavy studs are skilled.
And look at the size on them !
    So huge.

    HUGE, SKILLED ....
..... BEHEMOTHS ! That's the word ! .... Behemoth technicians, displaying super skills.

Jabs and stuff. Oafs, no way ! Never ! No oafing here, son. Not today. This is MODERN TIMES, bro.

    Quite remarkable.

Lewis made Carnera look graceful with that performance.

BUT BOTTOM LINE, PAST PRIME ,AND NOT IN TOP SHAPE HE WON.

I heard a nasty rumor that both men were being quite friendly with the local beach boys behind the volley ball courts just hours before the bout. So I do wander how the fight would have went down had they not took such liberties with the locals.

And Lewis was in such poor shape.

I remember thinking, who was that disgusting fat slob in the ring? Why is Steward wasting his time with this blob, and that can't be the WBC title his people are carrying. Rolls of fat were just hanging over the sides of his trunks, it was disgusting, it looked like he was going to ooze everywhere and eat the audience. Than they announced "Lennox Lewis"..and I wept.

When Vitalii punched him I'm surprised his fist didn't disappear into that pile of jelly. The cuts were actually caused by one of Lewis' swinging man ****s.

Lewis retired after the fight, and lives now in Miami beach.
... with a wife, and kids.

He's not gay or anything .... he's married, y'know ... like Tom Cruise ... or Will Smith.
It's all kosher. Miami Beach is very kosher.

I guess this boils down to what does "getting friendly behind the volley ball courts" mean to you?

Anyone apart from you think Lewis was in top shape?

Lewis won the undisputed crown weighing against :

    Holyfield weighing 242lbs
    First defence against:
    Grant weighing 247lbs
    Next
    Botha ,[a soft defence] 250lbs
    Tua 250lbs
    Rahman a heavy 253.5lbs
    Rahman rematch down to 246.5lbs
    Tyson 249.25lbs
    Vitali 256.5lbs

Lennox Lewis: "I was getting to him. Look at his face. Just look at the state of his face. It was only a matter of time. It was deteriorating. The referee saved his face."
Vitali Klitschko: "Right now, I feel like the people's champion. I did not want them to stop the fight. My strategy was to take it into the seventh and eighth rounds. My strategy was working. I knew his conditioning was not good."

"At 256½ lbs, Lewis was fighting at the heaviest weight of his career."

He was old enough to be her...I think he was 59 in this fight? He had a very long amateur career.
