Okay I know these threads have kind of been done to death recently but I read a BBC article today in which McGuigan was talking about the Quigg vs Frampton potential fight.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/32456855
In the article Barry talks about the purse splits, this is the first offer, and I recall people saying that the 60/40 to the winner was not a co promotion and that is the reason for the rejection, however it turns out this isn't the case. He makes no reference towards a lack of co promotion but instead said that they were unwilling to take a 60/40 to the winner split, however they wanted a 60/40 split in their favour.

Can anyone please tell me the difference, they are clearly confident of winning the fight as anyone would be, but why will they not take the split as it is as it works out the same either way for them.

Shoddy excuses or is there something I am not missing? I like Carl, I think he is a superb fighter, however I cant see any reason, but for him ducking this fight, well either him or his team anyway.

I don't think Magoo or Eddie are easy to deal with. It's not the first fight not to happen cos of politics. Both should move on and it'll be interesting to see how things pan out for each.

This has nothing to do with Eddie or Matchroom, just trying to make sense of Barry and his comments. I didn't mention them as it doesn't need to be mentioned, but had people telling me I was wrong on a few things a while back, and this article makes my point. Just wanted a few on here to see this.

Agreed, Eddie is a control freak and wants control of every big fight in the UK, and McGuigan doesn't like to be told what to do and he knows his promotional company aren't currently big enough to compete for a fight like this.

You need to move on, as your starting to sound paranoid.

    Conspiracy theories.

    Inferiority complex.

    Get over it.

You are coming across as really sad, posting on anyone's posts calling them matchroom fans boys and banging on about the hearns all day, you are so obviously one of them little trolls that if they saw Eddie Hearn they'd be like "hi me Hearn please could I have a picture and an autograph I'm your biggest fan"

Saw Eddie hearns Q&A on ifltv.....trust me am not a fan of his and believe Frampton wipes the floor with Quigg. But he has come out and said every meeting they had Barry mc didn't even attend one, they made 3 offers....2 of them heavily favouring Frampton in co promotions and for me it is defo mcguigan why this fight ain't happening.

I think many are in agreement. I've always felt this, anyone with an ounce of common sense sees it. Eddie's the only one been giving out any real info, while Magoo's lot are all smoke 'n mirrors.

Yeah the impression I got when I saw that was like a spoilt rich kid at school offering another lad £20 to ditch his girlfriend so he could have a go and quigg was his geeky mate who was promised seconds

Why can't just be 50/50. They both want the fight , so if both are confident they will win, what's the problem? I hate these "i have to have the bigger purse", or it doesn't happen.

Completley agree with that but I think it was a last gasp effort to make the fight as the meetings were going no where. On top of that I think eddie possibly wanted to show the public that it wasn't his side or quigg ducking as it has been made out in the past. Basically Barry is the reason the fight hasn't been made because of his "principals". Take that however you like he has the right to turn the fight down its just a shame and I think Carl will deeply regret it. Lets see who he boxes next will be interesting to see who they get

Because one is a world champion who sells 16k tickets whereas the other one has no profile and his only positive is the platform that his promoter has, personally think 70-30 frampton is fair as he brings more of the interest to it

Well if Frampton takes the 60/40 to the winner with the 1.5million guarantee and wins he will prob come out with over 2million.
