I read Wlad has tied Joe Louis for most appearances in a title fight with 27. Wlad's next fight breaks the heavyweight record. Do any other fighters in other divisions have more title appearances?

    I don't know. Chavez ?

Wlad only level with Louis if you include WBO when Lewis was champion, right ?

    1) Wlad might be the #1 in this department.

    2) He is nowhere near breaking Joe Louis's record.

How about Griffith? Counted, he comes up short at 24...Chavez is a good shout.

    Chavez has 37, I think.
    Mostly WBC, a few IBF.

    Hopkins has 35, I think.
Including the Wright and Calzaghe fights, which were recognized by the public as world title fights, unsanctioned as such by alphabet organizations.

There's THE MAN McGrain! Short at 24??? With all the alphabet b**s**t? What do we have now? 5 or 6 champs in every
division? 40-50 "top 10 contenders"? What were Emile's championship rounds (**** on 'titles') 380 or so? Topped Pep.
And with a twelve round max now, NO ONE will top Griffith's acheivement!

I reckon Jack Johnson, Sam Langford, and Harry Wills would have to be up there.

I thought Miguel Canto had a bit over 20, but it turns out it was actually 18.

He's probably much higher up in "rounds fought in championship fights" since so many of those 18 fights went 15 rounds.
