If from the get go, Manny is able to out-speed and beat up Floyd, and this fight is a one-sided wipe-out, do you think Floyd will try to look for a way out of the fight midway through? (Hand injury, etc)

    Nope.

I STRONGLY feel Floyd will win everything past round 8 UNLESS Pacquiao really beats him up and forces Floyd to fight at a pace he can't manage (Floyd will focus on dictating the pace though and tire Manny with missed punches)

The first 6 rounds ARE EVERYTHING for Pacquiao.

What's with all the "what if Pacquiao" hypothetical threads? You'll have all the answers to your questions in one week.

He'll have to actually bite him for Mayweather to complain and that's something Pacquiao isn't cheap enough(Maidana style) to do. Nice try though, dumb loser.

    ----

On topic, no he won't. He will keep trying and might possibly even up a bit more but will eventually continue losing till it's over with.

Floyd takes advantage of any little thing he can, from the 1st day at a negotiation till the last 20 seconds of the 12th. Any low blow, rabbit punch, cut or what ever he will squeeze any advantage out of it whether its time or points or what ever.

But faking injury is low and if he is getting a beating in there i wouldnt expect him to sink as low as to try pull out the fight unless he actually had something. Complain about stuff yeah, pull out, no.

My gut is telling me pacquiao wins. Pacquiao is the poster boy of natural selection in boxing. He loses and learns from his mistakes. He climbed the ranks in a very fair manner. Time and time again, he defy the odds. He was never expected to make it to this level of boxing.

The only reason Pacquiao will win is cause he's a fearless strange fighter. Mayweather has never an A level awkward fighter before. Chino was awkward in an orthadox stance was still able to give mayweather fits. Mayweather was able to predict traditional combinations in a boxing match. Mayweather has great boxing abilities but southpaws has have crazy combos from completely different angles.

Left hand boxers give him problems. -oscar, cotto, zab and corley.
What are Floyd’s answer for the left? Now if Cotto, oscar were able to consistantly land jabs, imagine pacquiao doing this and he's 2x the speed. Also his straight left seems to be than their jabs.

His last few were matched up with slow footed boxers. - canelo, 2x maidana, guerrero, marquez, ortiz, and cotto.
All them guys are come forward fighters with slow feet.
When he fought ortiz and roberto, they landed plenty of punches.

Why do people think that Mayweather is the only one who will have a fighter in front of him with skills he has never experienced before? Pac is in the same boat.

And an even worst boat. I can't think of anyone that Pac has faced that has the speed and timing or boxing ability of PBF.

If he gets behind, I would not be surprised if Floyd started to fight dirty and made the fight ugly.

oscar and cotto are southpaws but fight orthadox so it's not the same but the key for both was they hasd there strong hand to use the jab. Maidana used the jab very well in fight 1, the key is the jab but I don't think mannys jab is good enough, his straight left is going to be the key in this fight. Hooks and wide punches won't be a problem for floyd.

Cotto oscar zab all the problems they caused floyd came from staight shots. When he's getting hit with straight shots he uses the high guard.

The corley fight is such a myth, go watch it. Its a 12-0 fight with floyd taking one good right hook in the 4th round and was rocked for about 5 seconds but was fine and wasn't as hurt as he was against shanes second big right hand. It's like saying floyd has trouble with orthodox fighters because he had a bad round vs shane... floyd having trouble with southpaws is abit of a myth tbh, nothing I'v seen from him shows me he has trouble. He does take a little longer to figure them out but that's normal.

Agreed. PACE is everything, imo! Both have always been the ring general and forced their pace but now someone has to give. Whoever sets the pace wins imo, because that'll set them up to impose their style on the other.

One first point, I agree. It's similar to what Mosley and Oscar said in "The Legends Speak". Floyd doesn't know how to defend a jab and Oscar had a ton of success with it before he stopped using it. Now, that's a left jab... and Mosley implied that Pacquiao could use his straight left power punch in compensation for the jab and it could be potentially dangerous for Floyd.

    On the second remark,

With Manny's combination of athletic abilities (southpaw + awkward + footwork + speed), do you think it may take too long to figure him out? It took Mayweather around 5 rounds to figure out Judah and he was speedy and a southpaw. It took around 8 rounds though to adjust to Maidana in the first fight and he was awkward! Now, you have Pacquiao who is a combination of their athletic abilities but at elite levels.

One scenario I see is it just taking too long to adjust to all those abilities and finding himself down on the scorecards late. That's why I always felt Manny's best chance to win is in the first fight but Mayweather would 100% win in the rematch.
