Fighting three World Title fights there these days without a name opponent isn't too shabby.

Semantics... He hit him with a right as he was coming in... What do you want to call it,

    A counter?

Point still stands, that's how I see Wlad hitting Rocky... I don't think Wlad will have the power to KO Marciano though.. at the range Marciano would be at, and the fact that he would be moving in, would shorten Wlads punch... Negating some power.

Punching down is difficult. Like everyone Rocky fought Wlad will find him not the easiest to hit cleanly. To do so Wlad will need to lean in and bend lower making him then vulnerable to being hit himself. Marciano stated it himself that he never had trouble with tall bigger opponents.

Wlad is too big and powerful for Rocky imo Marciano was not quick either of hand or foot, and he was cut prone. He is money in the bank for a great jabber with two fisted power. Dempsey is a whole different ball game, fast of hand and foot and quicker into range than Rocky, with better head movement and shorter punches I think he is very dangerous for Wlad..

Marciano had plenty of trouble from Vingo who though 6'4" was under 190lbs and a novice. The flat footed Vingo rocked him several times with right hands.

Punching down isn't half as difficult as attempting to punch up. Marciano would be conceding 60+lbs in weight 7.5inches in height , and 12inches in reach, against a man who has comparable power and better boxing skills.Marciano often missed wildly and was caught off balance, if he did against Wlad what he did against 39 years old Archie he is going to pay very dearly for it.

I agree with you on Dempsey.

I think the rock will be losing to Wlad, but pull out the win late as Wlad gasses...

Wlad wont be able to generate that much power in close. Marciano will get man handled a bit, leaned on and pushed, This would work on normal opponents to tire them out.

Rocky is nigh indefatigable.... At some point Wlad is going to start leaning down himself to try and catch Rocky.... Rocky had one of the best Overhand rights in History.... He is going to catch Wlad and KO him.....

Marciano will be losing... until late... Then ..Your going to see Wlad on the Canvas. ... I think rocky weathers the early storm and adapts.

Rocky was very cute in the ring. At one time I saw him as a open target but this is so far from the truth it's laughable. He was always blocking, rolling, bobbing and weaving. Walcott and Moore both sharpshooters thought he could hit Rocky at will. Never happened. I would never sell Marciano short vs anyone. A very special fighter was the Rock.

Vingo was a very hot prospect. He was also destroyed by Rocky eventually.

Rocky had not hit his prime in that fight either. He was still learning.

    So you agree!

Rocky was a sucker for the right.

I will say sucker is to harsh a word.... That was the punch that seemed to trouble him the most.

Rocky was hard to hit clean

Rocky was knocked down by one fighter with a right hand. That does not mean he was a sucker for a right hand. Rocky was not an open target. He was in fact very hard to hit cleanly.

    Bingo.

I agree with you.. this is how I see Wlad getting Koed by Marciano.. as he was leaning in.

Just because you don't like the way he fights doesn't change the fact.. The numbers don't lie. Wlad is one of the greats whether you like it or not.

    Ok

Sucker is harsh... But it was the punch that he got caught with a lot. It happened mostly when Marciano was throwing his own punch's. A good straight punch was his weakness as he was attacking.

I will clarify... In THIS fight, that is the punch that Wlad has the best chance of landing cleanly as Rocky is coming in with his overhands.

    Just my opinion
