Mayweather has great defense/chin. Against the guys he's fought.

Pacquiao has great offense. Against the guys he's fought.

Neither guy has been fighting people at their level, though. Mayweather has gone out of his way to pick favorable matchups, while Pacquiao has cleaned out Top Rank's relatively weak stable.

My gut tells me Pacquiao has been underperforming lately, while Mayweather has been declining. I feel Pacquiao hasn't been taking guys like Rios/Bradley/Algieri all that seriously, and he always has trouble with JMM. I think Mayweather takes EVERYBODY seriously, but there's no way Maidana and Cotto should have given him those kind of problems.

Interesting take. I too feel that Mayweather always takes an opponent seriously due to the pressure and burden of the "0". So when I hear "he wasn't motivated" I don't believe it...because what motivates Floyd is that 0 on his record, not the quality of his opponent.

i think floyd wont risk go toe to toe with pac, he will try to frustrate pac, floyds copying the blue print of jmm( thats why he hires memo), floyd will do all night is pot shot and wait to counter shot, pac said he studied floyds style for 5 years, he knows what to do to win every round. Pretty boring fight pac by ud 116-112.

Don't worry, Mayweather will put that beating on Pac in less than a week. The only people that will crying about a fighter being shot are Pacturds.

No doubt about the outcome of the fight May 2nd.

It will keep him honest , stop him from throwing lots of punches, then by the 6 round it will be a mismatch.

With Floyd using his Philly shell stance he won't have as many opportunities to land it as Marquez did his, because Marquez would square up and be willing to take a shot to land his right, Floyd is defense first... he won't risk it.

How will pacquiao react? He will tap his gloves together and he will convert into a super sayan mode.

OMG. Okay so Cotto can land clean his best shot. Margarito can land clean his best shot. Mosley can land clean his best shot. Rios can land clean his best shot. Marquez can land clean his best shot...

but it'll be MAYWEATHER'S best shot that for the first time EVER will cause Pac to stop throwing?

    Like, come on people.

Doesn't Floyd have a tendency to square up with a high guard against southpaws, instead of the philly shell?

It'll stop him from throwing as many punches. Marquez was landing good shots in the third fight and Pac only threw 567 punches, against Mosley who was just running scared and not landing any notable coutners he threw 727.

Ok so ignore the huge outside variables that effected the third fight. ok

Since 2012, 600-700 is pretty much a norm for him so 567 isn't that significant. Also considering that Marquez was willing to fight and engage with Pacquiao, while Mayweather most likely won't.
