Comparing ATG Pac to the ATB's (All-time BUMS) Floyd has made a career out of beating is ABSURD!

Floyd can't put punches together as fast as Manny does. Floyd won't even throw more than a 1-2 anyway. And Floyd isn't nearly as fast as he was in his prime either. The speed is very close, not that it matters, even if Floyd is a tad faster, Floyd isn't used to facing FAST fighers like Pac anyway. Anyone thinking Floyd is just going to walk in and easily win this isnt thinking straight. anything is possible of course, but this is a big step up for Floyd, just as big as it is for Manny, except Manny is battle-tested, and has faced off vs legit threats before. Floyd has spents years sparring chumps for this fight, don't be surprised if Floyd is exposed by Manny. 4 days until the truth is revealed!

If I were a Floyd fan still, I would be worried. Going by how many fights he's had with B and C rated guys, would be concerned now that he's finally stepping up to face another LEGIT, not far from prime ATG, for really the first time in his whole career!

Pac moves unlike anyone Floyd has ever faced, so if Floyd wants to run and pot shot, you really think he's going to be able to with Pac? I don't know about that, pac's got amazing footwork that will allow him to keep right up with Floyd.

Also, pac has speed that FLoyd hasn't seen since Zab Judah, and Oscar, who was quite a bit slower than his prime, but Pac is arguably faster than both men, atleast how fast he puts his combinations together. Its one thing for Floyd to "feel" that straight left coming, another thing to feel 4 more punches immediately thrown at different angles with both hands!
I don't need to mention Pac's a southpaw, which is just more trouble for Floyd.

I see Pac making Floyd fight, and if Floyd's as great as he thinks he's is, this should be no problem and he will KO the threat, or will he? Will Floyd like getting hit this much, with this much power and with punches he isn't seeing? Will Floyd's own chin hold up? What happens when floyd realizes he's not in there with Guerro, Ortiz, Hatton, Maidana etc? Pac is going to quickly show a level Floyd's never seen, will Floyd be able to deal with this? Its a good question. Nothing surprises me in this fight and don't be surprised if Manny exposes Floyd and gets rid of him early. Don't be surprised if we see the same pac from the Oscar fight! This is his biggest fight since that one, and we already know Pac steps it up when he needs too.

And what would that mean for Pacquiao if he were to lose to a 38 year old fighter who is supposedly still so unproven that people think he can be exposed?

Good post. what can I say? Agree completely. I'm thinking Pac will pulverize him.

Pac has had massive problems against counter punchers. Watching Marquez outclass Pac in the 2nd and third fight would make me worried as a Pac fan.

I agree with most of what you've said there. Will Floyd be overwhelmed or will he adjust as he usually does? It's a genuine 50/50 fight IMO. Can't wait to find out.

I like both guys a lot but I'm picking Floyd by close-ish but clear UD. I'm guessing that Manny will win 3 of the first 4 rounds or so while Floyd gets a look at him and then Floyd will close strong winning 6 or 7 of the last 8.

The only thing that gives me pause about my prediction is that it really has been an awfully long time since Floyd fought someone who can match him for speed. OP is right that it's been since the Judah fight. Floyd has always figured out a way, though.

lol, I've changed my opinion in recent years obviously. But atleast shows I'm not pac fan. I believe he ranks higher than Floyd does in ATG rankings and can expose Floyd in this fight still.
And regardless, I think even less of Floyd!
I must've been drunk that night, Pac's wins over Barrera and Morales are ATG worthy alone!

I thought I saw greatness in him at one point, but after he took that brutal streak of KO losses it all went down the drain. What a waste of talent. Some guys just don't have it. Hopefully he can revive his career and make a few $$$ before he gets out the game, maybe open up a gym or something to make ends meet.
