    Pacquiao saves woman from death penalty

    Manny Pacquiao’s letter to Indonesian President Joko Widodo to cancel the execution of Mary Jane Veloso, a Filipina woman who was sentenced to death and scheduled to be executed last night, was well responded to by the president. She was scheduled to be executed together with eight others convicted of drug smuggling and the other eight were reportedly shot to death. The reason for cancelation of the execution is reportedly the result of the surrender of one of Veloso’s friends to the police in the Philippines.

    Manny wrote:


    “Mr. President, on 2 May I’ll be fighting in Las Vegas, Nevada, against Floyd Mayweather. It is considered the fight of the century. It will be a great morale booster if, in my own little way, I can save a life. I am dedicating this fight to my country and the entire Asian people, to which the Philippines and Indonesia belong. Thank you, Mr. President.”

    I wonder if that's Pac and Fortune's supplier? Now it makes sense. Why would you ask for a stay of execution on a drug smuggler? It's OK for the others to be executed but not her?

    I've been reading about this story as in the philippines its all over the news.. I really don't beleive the girls side of it.. saying she was tricked into smuggling drugs..
    But! PAC DID NOT SAVE THE GIRL! The girls "Recruiter" stepped forward and that's what put the death penalty off.
