    Wlad is hugely popular in Europe. The USA likes to watch its own. Match Wlad vs an undefeated USA heavy and you'll get USA ratings. 1.7 million. There you have it.

    Wlad vs Wilder would be over 2 million HBO viewers easy.

    1.7 million is actually very good, I'm surprised by those numbers. Bodes well for the potential unification fight with Wilder.

    I hate when fights that leave a bad taste like that get good ratings... i never understand it either. Should have been Matthysse vs Provo that got those numbers and it would have lived up to the ratings n had people tuning in next time. All this number means to me is that a lot of people tried tuning in and saw something they probably wont come back for.

    I disagree. I don't think the fight was as dull as many make it out to be. Was it a war, no, but it was competitive and highly skilled. Not great, but not terrible either. I would watch another fight of either man after viewing that.

    Not sure about you but when I am watching something and it sucks I turn the channel. People are not going to continue to watch if it was that boring which it wasn't.

    You have to look it at from another point. Wladimir has put in decades of hard work and he achieved a lot of success so he does deserve these types of ratings.
