Once the right hook starts getting around his high guard he will open the guard a bit to protect from the hook. Then the straight left will rock him. Floyd has no answers for a good southpaw he never has. He was simply able to pressure and win exchanges. He never defensively solved any of the good southpaws he faced. He beat them by going in the offensive and trading. If anyone thinks that is a good strategy for Manny you're crazy.

As they say, styles make fights. Gonna be a tough fight on Saturday if things play out the way you describe.

What exactly is the point of this video? That fight happened almost 10 years ago.

Is it because Zab Judah is a southpaw? Floyd has fought several southpaws since Judah, why not show one of those videos as well? Oh it's because he dominated the recent southpaws he took on, so it doesn't fit the agenda of this thread.

    Ok cool.

Pacman's not as fast handed as people are making him out to be. Go watch his last 2 fights against Algieri and Bradley II, he lost something on his velocity, especially when he throws combinations.

He's still quick-handed, but he has nowhere near the same level of handspeed he had from say 5 or 6 years ago. There's a considerable decline there that can be easily picked up by the eye test.

No fight leading up to this fight matters because of the huge motivation to win by both guys. If people believe that southpaws bother Floyd, then orthodox fighters definitley bother Pac. It goes both ways, only Floyd is one of the very best defensive fighters to grace the ring.

Same with Oscar. I'll never understand why they do it.

Judah really slipped in that fight

that left hand was getting through all night

**** riders like wilson kayden taking about floyds adjustments

he can never adjust to the straight left because of his stupid philly shell

yes. this is why floyd avoided lefties. his shoulder roll is useless. and pac is faster and more powerful than judah. reason why roach retrained pac's left hand. this is their primary weapon for floyd. non-stop left hand attacks. i really see a lot of hugging and running here from floyd unless they really made a miracle with his power that he will fight to stop pac early. would like to see floyd being knocked down to see how he reacts.

there was a scuffle and floyd's corner choked judah. afterwards, judah's game changed like he was fighting under duress. security at ring side should be ensured for the pac-floyd bout.

Sigh..... Let me just give you a little insight, it's not useless. Not as effective? Sure, you could make an argument I suppose... but useless? No. It still has its uses. FYI - You can neutralize a southpaw's jab with your shoulder as orthodox like you would the right hand of an orthodox fighter. Example of it not being useless.

I swear, if I hear "the shoulder roll/philly shell/michigan defense can't be used against a southpaw" one more time...... :nut:nut:smoke
