Part of me wonders how Ibragimov could do if he mounted a comeback.. He's a smaller HW who relied a lot more on speed/reflexes, but also pretty skilled. I know he's getting up there in age, so it's probably too late. A lot of people remember him for that bad fight with Wlad, but most of the time he was an absolute joy to watch. I wish he stuck around longer before retiring.
Still a pretty bad fight for him.. Ustinov is like a 25% speed Vitali Klitschko . Not really any better of a choice, just as bad actually. If he knew what was good for him he'd gun for a fight with Chisora. But I have to admire him if he takes this, it's a really bad fight for him.
Arnold Gjergjaj v.s Denis Bakhtov on June 6th. I think Bakhtov has a good shot at exposing Gjergjaj if he shows up for this one.
Gjergjaj has good power, but he's really crude. I'm not impressed. Bakhtov has been known to spoil when he shows up.
I think he has to.To prepare for not only Wladimir as a dream fight, but more importantly for rated opponents.
Anybody seen Jarrell Miller fight? Currently 12(10)-0-1. 270 pounds slugger. Last win was over Raymond Ochieng by KO1. He drew with Joey Dawejko after getting 2 points deduction in 4 round fight. He called out Chris Arreola recently and wants a shot at Wladimir Klitschko in the next 18 months.
:goodIm of the same mind on that. Brazeale would be best though if he had a notion to slim down about 15lbs and tighten up his defense some and use his height better, ala Fury these past few fights. If Brazeale teamed up with Team Fury for a couple camps, he'd surpass Martin, just IMO.:thumbsup
Well, he wouldnt be around long then, cuz if he aint the best, he'd walk straight away again. His own words.atsch
Fast hands that impressed Mike Tyson...power...southpaw...could box as well as punch. Olympic silver medalist and WBO champ. Ibragimov was a hell of a fighter and could have been a lot more.
He coulda continued beating the Briggs, Valeuvs, Ruizs, Brewsters, Peters Rahmans, and Liakovichs. But it was a short time later that Vitali returned from hiatus, and that would been an even bigger hill than Wlad to climb. Once Wlad/Vitali had all the titles, (TECHNICALLY Wlad was WBA Super Champ when he beat Chagaev) there was really no point in Iggy hanging around since his stated goal was to be the best of the best. And he'd have no less than 3 Ls on his resume if he were still around. Wlad, Vito, and Potvetkin, and probably, Thompson.:thumbsup
I saw him lose twice to an ancient Cro Cop in kickboxing, not impressed with him. Cro Cop was able to rough him up on the inside, and clinch whenever he saw fit. Outboxed him too. Not impressed at all with Miller, don't pay as much attention to him as the other American prospects that are out there at the moment, Miller is one of the worst.
