Marcos Maidana was holding his own with Floyd in the middle of the ring at times. Even hitting him clean with jabs. Floyd was getting countered by Guerrero early on in the fight. Floyd's last 2 opponents (3 fights) have been against guys with slow, un-sophisticated footwork. This fight will come down to 1 factor. Does Floyd still have the legs, footwork and reflexes to deal with Manny's attack? If he does, he'll win a close decision, like I've always thought he would. If he does NOT, then Manny is going to win a very wide decision.

Those are honestly the only 2 outcomes I see here.

Pacquiao has some success with his workrate and unusual angles. Mayweather as usual, will adapt, and lower Pacquiao's workrate. Left jabs are often tough to land against lefties, but I suspect Floyd will land it, as well as the right cross, of course. Wouldn't be surprised if he lands the uppercut at closer quarters as well.

I expect Pac to, at a minimum, have a lot more success than Cotto and Maidana 1. I think that is pretty realistic.

thats tough to say. maidana knew he couldnt outbox mayweather so he fought as rough as he could. Pac dont fight like that! also he just doesnt throw enough body shots like them, which will be one of his downfalls

YOu mentioned the body attacks of both Castillo and Maidana, both very aggressive fighters. Some people assume because Pacman is aggressive also, that he'll have success with Floyd.

However, castillo and Maidana were larger men than Floyd at the time they fought him, in JLC's case, FLoyd just moved up from 130 and was taking on a titleholder with much experience at 135 in JLC. Also, marcos and Castillo were/are both very good inside fighters who did their best offensive work when they had floyd pinned on the ropes.

Manny isn't stronger than floyd is, he won't try to fight him from the inside because he doesn't know how to fight like that, and he surely doesn't pin his opposition on the ropes and starts wailing on them like Maidana does.

Pacman's best offesneive work comes from him jumping in and out, but it almost always takes place in and around the center of the ring. That spells disaster in my book when dealing with a master boxer with nearly a half a foot reach advantage.
