    I really don't see how it's so hard to understand

    I thought Miura would win, but not as clear cut as many others thought it would be.

    Thought Dib could pull it off.

    It's not hard to understand. It's not the first time someone has picked a favorite 'officially' and build up a major underdog separately. Favorite wins? You get to say you picked him all along. Underdog wins? You get to say you're a genius. It's called hedging your bets.
