I don't think the commission was aware of the fact that these two decided on no horsehair gloves (on their own). They probably thought it was a normal routine. Reyes are completely legal (Horsehair or foam). But the contract stated that NO HORSEHAIR gloves can be used. The commission probably didn't know. Team Pac brought it in for checking days b4 the inspection date (Which was today)
These gloves are common and are not illegal. Furthermore, The Mayweather Team has agreed so, why should it be an issue for you? It's also unfair to tell Pac he can't use them one day before the fight when they were approved days ago. Both you and I don't know the intricacies so, they have now agreed and move on.
Because you have no counter argument? You can talk as much **** as you want or belittle me as much as you want, it ain't gonna do a damn thing.
I suppose that's possible, but something still doesn't add up, then. I think rayrobinson nailed it when he mentioned most contracts always have areas that are up for interpretation. At the end of the day, I don't believe this has an impact on the outcome regardless, but I am interested to see if a reputable news source actually confirms the claims being made by the, as yet, unnamed sources.
No one said it was illegal, I said it was legal But they agreed on CONTRACT that no horsehair gloves can be used. Is this hard to understand?
That link has been posted already? Unless I'm misinterpreting things, It reads to me like a loophole has been exploited by Arum to sneak these perfectly legal gloves through.
Yes I have taken course on contracts (law) and it is true that many contracts out there are extremely complicated and not everything is black and white and certain details are usually left up to interpretation. But in this case, I don't see any other way in which to interpret this "Neither gloves can be made of horsehair" Mayweather's grants are made of foam Pacquiao's (the ones he brought) are made of horsehair It doesn't satisfy the contract like it says in the article.
Both parties have agreed after further meeting. Is that hard to understand? They are not illegal and yes there was a contract. This has been settled.
All it says is this: "According to those close to the situation, a contract exists between the two camps that states Mayweather will wear Grant-manufactured gloves, Pacquiao will wear Reyes gloves and neither set can be horse-hair-style boxing gloves." Could the source be mistaken? Misinformed? Misinterpreted? Spreading disinformation? ESPN didn't quote anyone, so I'm thinking: A. It never said that in the contract B. MVC is correct, and somehow the commission was unaware or unimpressed by the contract stip C. That rayrobinson was right, and it's some non-specific grey area that's up for legal interpretation
You mean, as far as we know, that's what was agreed upon. As was said earlier by someone else, this could be an area of the contract that was grey, with each side assuming something different.
I would never want that, I want the fight to go on. I'm just saying DO NOT be surprised if it becomes an issue again even though it may seem like it's solved as of this moment. I want Pac to be at his very best and I want May to be at his very best. But Pac clearly broke the contract here. It's an irrefutable fact from the evidence we're given.
