Mayweather clearly won the fight by outpointing Pacquiao. However, he did not clearly school anyone, he was the better boxer and has always been. A fraction of the old Pacquiao showed up, maybe 100% of what he could give today, however, this has been the trend in recent fights if you closely watch his performances since he was at his peak. Unfortunately, many forgot due to the hype and perhaps due to wanting an older version of Pacquiao (when the fight was supposed to happen) to show up, despite the reality of what it is this point in time.

Father time has been catching up with both fighters for quite some time, however, the effect of time has had a greater impact on Pacquiao than Mayweather. It is simply the nature of the beast due to styles that have made each fighter successful. Mayweather, the calculated, crafty, finesse boxer and Pacquiao the rambunctious whirlwind (at least a few years ago).

The point is that this fight would have been more intriguing 5 years ago, although still favoring Mayweather on paper due to styles and stats.
Would have, could have, so many questions, but the question is whether any of it will be remembered years from now or even relevant as the record books don't give context or circumstances surrounding a fight, simply who was the winner/loser.

I believe Manny would've won 5 years ago.

    Mayweather dominated him tonight though.

On paper, Mayweather is the safe bet as he has the advantages (styles, tale of the tape, etc). however, due to the intangibles in Pacquiao's game, you could never count him out. He showed he could stun Mayweather even at this stage and certainly the fight would have been closer 5 years ago, IMO.
