Ok. Floyd won, no doubt on that ... but what a predictable, tedious and dull victory it was.

Fight of the century, my butt! ... this hardly qualifies as fight of the year.

Floyd won and slowly killed the sport some more. What a lack luster fight. Manny is shot. Floyd fought smart. The end.

    Lame fight

Floyd got what he wanted ... Biggest purse on history, undefeated record, and shrewdly delaying the fight until Manny was no longer a serious threat so he could cruise to a comfortable win against the best fighter in his era

    Congrats I guess

Seriously, I am never ever watching another Floyd fight .... watching ice melting is way more exciting than Floyd's "safety-first-zero-risk" style.

    And Pac should just retire.

I had Pac winning this by 2 points, but I seem to be in minority. Very many close rounds, so it's not surprising that it went differently than I thought, but that this should be a wide win by Floyd...

I'm not above tooting my own horn. :good Besides Pac's calves cramping up, which very well may have happened but it wasn't mentioned, I think I was spot on.

Edit: Also, there is no way to score this fight for Pac. Floyd actually hit hard for a change, he outlanded Pacquiao in power punches according to compubox, and he landed as much jabs as Pac landed punches in total.

Pac shook him a few times, but couldn't follow up. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

Yeah, the compubox numbers make me suspect I missed something to be honest. Especially the number of jabs Floyd apparently landed.

So the fight more or less went as I predicted. Just that I didn't score it so. :)

it's a shame all these big money or recognition fights, almost none of them ever work out and turn out to be disappointments which is why I was asking why are these fights so big? Is it just the build up?l

I think it's the build up. I didnt see the fight but it didnt seem to be an attractive matchup. Neither man in his prime. neither could really punch, neither man had an aggressive fighting style and both were kind of dull so I have to conclude it was the buildup by the media - kind of a fight for the dumb & uninformed

The media can get most people to get caught up in sports hype and could apply to other areas. Look at the rivalry games between USC & UCLA. Most people in LA never attended either, and yet end up rooting for one or the other due to school pride when it's really just a big deal for those in the media who attended those schools

Wow! I gave Manny 3 rounds at the most and I wanted him to win!

You don't think Manny's style is aggressive?

What a dud. Manny had nothing. No power. No explosive speed. When he did land Floyd took it easily. This was nothing like the guy who fought Oscar and Cotto. Floyd remains brilliant in choosing who to fight when. I must say also that Manny looked smaller and less ripped and I do wonder if the blood testing mattered ..

Floyd's career has been a perfect storm. His own talent, a media age w zero attention span and perfect opponents. He is a master at fighting old big names or larger guys that are not great. All the credit in the world to him for his own talent and discipline, ect., but truly he would never have moved up to 147 in the age of Leonard, Hearns and Duran. No way.

Boring fight, as I knew it would be.
