I've seen thousands of threads and tens of thousands of posts on the topic. This is my first and last one and I make no apology for it. The sheer amount of 'he said/she said' tedium that this one fight has produced means it stands alone in the annals of boxing boredom.

But the good news is ...Now it is over.

Mayweather won and won comfortably. It was a dull affair in the end and did not become the battle most had hoped for. Anyone giving Pacquiao more than 3 rounds should be barred from any serious conversation about the fight. Even the rounds he won were of the 'close and non-eventful' sort.

There is no rationale for a rematch. Wasn't close, wasn't fun. If it makes Pacqiaou fans feel better then let's all agree that 'not close and not fun' pretty much sums up Mayweather fights.

However let's also agree that anyone who has spent year yammering on about Mayweather being terrified, ducking, being a coward, Manny being the super-best-ever and Mayweather being a big old fraud... anyone who has contributed to the hundreds of thousands of posts of that sort.... well, they were clearly wrong. Really clearly. This was an easy night for Mayweather and a 38 year old version of him.

Manny, who I like and in many ways hoped would win, looked a bit of a putz claiming post fight that 'i thought I won'. I suppose he is trying in a post-fight sort of haze to potentially secure a rematch by launching a pretence it was in some way close.... however I urge Pac fans not to assist in that delusion.

The topic is dead and over. The Mayweather Pac express is defunct. PPV with Mayweather will roll on one more time, this time hopefully with Khan, but I think the 'super fight' of the 2000's has done more harm than good and it'll be a while before casuals pay up for another letdown.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. I reckon they milk the rematch.

    Well said.

The General Forum has been absolutely terrible for the last few months and the rest. Somehow i don't think the Pacquiao fans will be able to be gracious after the loss and give credit where it's due....much like their idol actually.

Nope and if they did it will never be bigger than this first fight.

The fight went how I expected it to always, years back this is how I expect Floyd to beat manny.

Don't know what the average fan expected

Credit where it is due?? I'm sorry but that was far from the fight of the century it was made out to have been, quite the opposite as in fact it was possibly the worst fight many will ever whitness!! Boxing was in the limelight for this so called mega fight that turned out to be a let down for the sport. It was no more than a glorified sparring session and a snoozefest to boot!!

It did have a spar session vibe to it.
