1- MAY 2- MAY 3- PAC 4- PAC 5- MAY 6- PAC 7- MAY 8- MAY 9- PAC 10- PAC 11- MAY 12- PAC Mayweather showed the best out there, controlling range, keeping Manny at the right distance with his major reach and height advantages, touching with the jab and going to the body to slow him down, infighting intelligently, staying off the ropes as much as possible, etc. It was masterful. But mathematically, this fight was an even draw, because Floyd simply didn't do enough in the rounds I scored for Manny - a Manny counter left hand in those rounds would be followed by Mayweather grabbing or running for the rest of the round. It seemed Manny had the heavier hands, they both felt that after two or three rounds, and then Mayweather didn't want to stand and engage move-for-move in ring centre. Smart and did enough not to lose.
I only scored round 12 differently to you, which I gave to Floyd, to have him a winner at 115/113, but I know exactly what you mean
I only gave pac rounds 4 and 6 to manny, can't remember if it was the 9th or 10th could have been even, whilst Floyd didn't do a lot in many of the rounds, the fight was at his pace and he outlanded pac.
That's exactly how I had it. I just got the impression Floyd was fighting his fight, his pace, and as such I felt he won through ring generalship. You see, I feel a lot of people mistake 'Aggression' with 'Effective Aggression'. I didn't feel Manny's aggression was effective, he followed Floyd around the ring instead of cutting the ring off, when he got Floyd to the ropes he missed with a 3 punch flurry as Floyd ducked to the right and slipped out and for by all that, he just wasn't busy enough. Calzaghe B-Hop springs to mind for me in which, yes it is a controversial fight, but Calzaghe was so busy you got the feeling he was fighting his usual style, his plan if you will, and therefore his aggression could be deemed effective, especially as at that time he landed more punches on Bhop that any other fighter. But that brings me to my last point, 'Clean punching'. Many people use that as the criticism against Calzaghe in the Hopkins fight. I don't think it can be used in the Mayweather fight. The punches that stood out for me in this fight, Mayweather's right hand and his jab, he couldn't miss with either. He mightn't hit as hard as Pacquiao, but his punching was clean and that right hand definitely discouraged Pacquaio from charging in. Maybe, at a strong push I could swing a further two rounds to Pac but that's it. Mayweather clear victory
I had it all level after 9, 4 a piece with one shared. I then had Floyd winning 10, 11 and 12, saying that though I was in a pub that was very much pro Pacquiao, so that may have swayed my scoring slightly seeing as a lot of people had it wider than I did.
I scored it 9-3 Floyd, 8-4 at worst. I had Rounds 4 and 6 to Pacman. Think it was 9 and 10 which I also had quite close but he won the fight comfortably.
Yes, I had 4 and 6 as only rounds PAC definitely won. Possibly won one or two others but thought Money won the other 8 rounds.
