    You're not wrong.

    I didn't expect a competitive fight necessarily, but was quietly hoping for some more fire, blood and guts.

    My mate put on Benn v Eubank 1 immediately after the fight this morning. I guess he wanted to see a fight.

    It wouldn't even have took that, May looked like 38 year old Holmes last night. Problem is Pac looked like 36 year old Tyson.

    No, but retiring undefeated and lineal champion concurrently at three weights would put him in that type of company for me.

    Probably more competitive in 2010, with more rough moments for him, but ultimately the same result.

    Too much good movement and foot placement, defense, reach, although the fight would have been at a faster tempo and even better for the sport

    Yes, it's difficult and perhaps of less meaning than i'm suggesting here.

    But i'm interested in unique and (to me) great achievements like this. As achievement it's most readily comparable to Terry McGovern's efforts I think, the trouble being that McGovern beat better dudes - but in turn did not go unbeaten in his career. Nor did he retire with those titles in tact. Nor did he have Floyd's astonishing longevity.

    McGovern is like my gatekeeper into the top 15 argument. I think if Mayweather did as i've described I'd place him above McGovern for what that is worth, and therefore he is introduced to that argument.

    Keep making excuses. How would manny have dealt with the even faster Floyd mayweather of 2009(who smoked a man whom pac couldn't beat decisively in 4 attempts?)

    Just accept the fact Floyd is better than manny and defeated him clearly at 38 years old

    Well he was scared sh!tless to fight a prime Pacquiao, and is now 38 years old.
    There's no way in hell he's ever getting in the ring with Golovkin.

    I dunno about that statement. Paulie Malinaggi basically said live on Sky yesterday that it was Manny's fault the fight never happened due to his refusal to take the drugs test. I'm not sure but I'd guess he has a better understanding of the situation that you or I.

    As I understand it, none of Mayweather's opponents before then had been required to take extensive drugs tests he was demanding of Manny, and none of Manny's previous opponents had asked him to either, or been asked to.

    Mayweather suddenly made himself the drugs Czar of boxing, I guess.
    His motives were clear enough, he didn't fancy fighting Pacquiao back then.

    I never said Pacquiao was the better man.

    The fear-less 09 version who blitzed Cotto horrible (who gave Floyd one of his most toughest fights) - was a world apart from the one night.

    Floyd wanted no part of that guy. The guy who retired the guy who semi retired him.

    That force of nature didn't care about getting hit with no pop shot.
