I think that Floyd fights at 160 in his next fight, but i would be SHOCKED if he fights Golovkin there.

 

Props to Floyd if he did fight Golovkin. However, I highly doubt that fight ever happens.

 

GGG needs to establish himself as a PPV name. He's a good fighter but he's had a hard time finding good USA household names who are willing to fight him. Floyd won't pick GGG unless GGG brings a lot of money -- GGG isn't there yet.

Floyd could pick Canelo for a rematch in September and make big PPV money once again. 3-4x more than against GGG.

 

I asked like 50 guys in Vegas if they knew who 'GGG' was and they all thought it was some sort of strip club. lol.

 

Thing is GGG needs to fight Mexicans in the US to get a name with the audience. Right now he's just some random Russian nobody knows. Not knocking Genady, but his handlers need to understand they need to expose him to the latino boxing fan audience in order to make big money in US boxing.

If he keeps fighting Brits and Australians that won't get him the exposure he needs in the US.

GGG has the style to become a star. But his being managed all wrong.

 

1. Im not a Floyd fan. I respect his ability, I despise his personality and what he represents outside the ring.
2. GGG is unknown with the US PPV audience, that's just a fact. How many PPV cards has GGG been on? How many opponents has GGG fought who themselves were on PPV cards?

Truth is fighting guys like Monroe, Macklin, Geale and Murray doesn't get you the PPV viewers you need. GGG's handlers need latinos for GGG to grow his appeal. Chavez, Cotto, Martinez would be good, but they don't want to fight him so he's in a tough spot right now. He doesn't get the fights he needs and gets knocked for the ones available to him.
