Only an idiot can see Pac didn't become more conservative after the Marquez loss.

Probably the same result, but other results become more likely. For example, a stoppage win by either fighter becomes more likely.
You'd hope a much better fight.
But then Mayweather's been stinking joints out for almost the last decade.

    He'd been knocked out as a 17-year-old and 20-year-old weight-struggling "flyweight".
Big difference between that and getting KO'd out cold at age 34.

After seeing last nights performance no, Manny was still fast but Maywewther was too clever.

That's Mannys problem though, a top proffesional should be able to overcome those doubts. Me personally, I'd rather go out on my shield than leave plenty in the tank, if that's the case then Manny will have lots of sleepless nights I can assure you.

After the fight I expected Manny to say he had an injury. I doubt he did, he looked to be doing the best he could but it wasn't there anymore. He couldn't land consistently and when he did land half the time it was because Floyd took a breather on the ropes and covered up taking a lot of the salvoes on his gloves and forearms.
Both have gone back but Floyd has a lot more left than Manny. A couple of quick rights in the early rounds made Manny cautious about storming in and he was always going to be ineffective at anything but close range.
The fight went about how I expected but was a more emphatic win than I envisaged.
Manny should quit. Floyd can beat Cotto and probably Khan whichever one he chooses then retire, he should leave Golovkin alone.
Thurman would be an interesting fight for him but I doubt he would want it.
Floyd whose personality I dislike was graceful in victory, Manny whom I like was not, he was comprehensively outboxed, out thought, out manouvered, and out fought, how he thought he won that fight is beyond me.

never in a million years did your humble narrator think he'd hear manny say afterwards that he thought he won, and that he had a shoulder injury coming into the fight....pacquaio, of all people.

Dissapointing and very sad for such a great fighter to be so graceless and churlish in defeat.

If he was injured the fight should have been postponed. Millions paid a huge sum to watch an injured fighter lose? Shame on Pac for cheating the fans.

If he accepts the defeat there's no way to go for a rematch. That might net him another 75 million, with which he can help countless people in the Fillipines.

Make an excuse, say you won, and you might do it.

    Exactly.

May has always been a spoiler but I don't think he even looked impressive at that on Saturday, he's slowed down alot and most of his counter attempts and jabs were telegraphed and being deflected.

Again, I felt this fight was like 36 year old Tyson vs 38 year old Holmes. Two visibly declined fighters meeting at a point that is slightly more favorable to the longer clever boxer.

While I'm sure Pac was frustrated, there were many rounds, May wasn't landing anything on him either. From Pac's perspective, "I blocked almost everything he threw as well, he was running from me, why should he be called the winner?" 11th probably the only round, Pac walked away feeling like a loser. And I'm sure the 4th was one of the few rounds, May thought he lost.

And the shoulder injury is starting look legit with surgery possible. We'll see. I doubt a 36 year old would go under the knife to have an excuse.

Manny isn't a warrior anymore. Fighters show you who they are when they need to take punches in order to win. The other possibility is Manny's stamina was not enough to press it. But he had plenty early and round one I felt he was in trouble. Manny's only good round was the 4th. That's it. He should have went after Mayweather hard in round five, but he didn't, and lost all momentum. I scored it 8-3-1 for Mayweather.

This fight badly damaged boxing. And Pacquaio's excuses and statement that he felt he won the fight gave the event a second black eye. The bad guy won clearly.
