You're completely correct. This wasn't some amazing performance, it was sensational defense which we've come to expect from Floyd but he didn't want to exchange with pac and constantly clinched when they started to. Smart yes, but not fan friendly. And I think it was Floyd's reach that really put the nail in the coffin of a pac that wasn't using his footwork that he is notorious for. Since when do we see Pac go straight in an entire fight? Even before he was hit he did this, he was flat footed!? But Floyd didn't BEAT pac, he outpointed Pac in a safe, amateur style win. The biggest watched fight in the history of the sport and floyd still doesn't be aggressive and try to make it an exciting fight. I'm still not convinced that FLoyd is high up on the ATG list, he's higher now that he beats pac and ahead of Pac yes, which changed from that fight for me.
Pac did the most damage though, even though he landed less punches, his punches made more impact. Floyd didn't land THAT much, many shots they were giving credit for hit manny's gloves. But it wasn't one of those fights you see Floyd landing several clean shots per round, they were pretty few and far between, but Pacs were even fewer. It was a bit of stinker.

    1) That's called "superior footwork" - So Manny wasn't as good right? Great, we've established that. Because there were some Manny faithful who were boasting about Manny's footwork pre-fight.
    2) Why was he scared to reach and over extend? Because Floyd was hurting him with those punches. That's why. So now we've established Manny isn't made out of steel, and Floyd actually punches harder than his haters claim.
    3) Manny fought Floyd's fight because he was "gun shy." Game, set, match.

I didn't see Manny quit reaching against Chris Algieri. He kept coming and over-extending regardless.

Forgive me for gloating overall about Floyd's win, but the **** that was talked for years and before this fight was beyond ridiculous.

if that's schooling then our knowledge of the sport would be limited. good thing we have previous knowledge of great fights to know what a really great win is.

What does this chart mean? What do the numbers on the left signify?

Those light punches were apparently hard enough to get Pacquiao to fight a more cautious fight, otherwise he would've swarmed all over Mayweather.

See, for you it's all about numbers :patsch How to you measure the power of one punch, the clearness and the effectivness ? You don't.

You can have 120-108 without schooling your opponent (the most abused word in boxing.)

Mayweather schooled Alvarez, Guerrero, Marquez, Hatton, Mosley, Baldomir, Judah, Gatti, etc...not just because he was controlling this and that; he was landing clear, sharp and power punches on them folks. Didn't do it against Pacquiao. Sorry.

PS: I had it closer than that

Yep it was a boring style match up with little content and Floyd controlling range while Manny blocked shots well, but he didn't do enough to win that many rounds ... Alvarez and Marquez were complete schoolings and Gatti a destruction. I honestly think Floyd was hurt worse than Pacquiao in this fight (as martinez was hurt worse than Chavez, even though he won that fight easily). This was a non-fight, not a schooling. When Pac could actually put punches together it was easy to see Floyd wouldn't trade with him in exchanges. There were many many times watching the Guerero fight where I thought OH MAN what a clean shot Floyd just landed. I thought that with the uppercut late in the Pac fight, and that was about it.

Frazier has everything to do with my "Styles make fights" statement. I'm hardly surprised you're too mentally ill to see through it yourself and need my help to further explain. Maidana looking better against Mayweather compared to Pacquiao is as relevant as Frazier looking better against Ali compared to Foreman.

What does Froch's prediction have to do with my statement about styles making fights?. Are you mentally autistic?.

If you control the ball 90+% of the time and win 1-0? That's a schooling. Reality son. Because Mayweather controlled Pacquiao 90% of the time... Manny couldn't do ****.

And Manny wasn't willing to sell out. Dude was gun shy. Just cashed his check and took his loss. Totally content with losing. Shameless.

Froch's prediction? That was Froch's assessment as a ring side observer at the fight live! Are you dumb?

Spare me the drunken style v crouching tiger style. Floyd's style dominated Pac's style. End of story.

If that is what schooling is called in boxing then it's the gayest sport ever.

The autism is disturbingly strong with this one, far too strong and I feel serious difficulties getting a sane explanation through. What the hell does Froch's assessment have to do with MY RESPONSE TO YOU REGARDING STYLES MAKING FIGHTS!?. Your autistic brain claims that Maidana and others did a better job than Mayweather as an attempt at downgrading Pacquiao. Do you know what STYLES in Boxing means and how they look differently against other styles?. Does Pacquiao looking better against Hatton, DLH, Cotto and Mosley compared to Mayweather mean that, despite Mayweather winning, Pacquiao is the better fighter?.

Your mental illness will find this post quite hard to understand.
