Let's face it guys...Floyd won the fight but he didn't school Pacquiao

Disagree. Floyd stopped manny from hitting him. But its not as if Floyd did much damage.

 

I thought Pacquiao actually had the better moments in the fight, the problem was there just wasn't enough of them. He spent too much time just standing in front of Floyd... He needed to double his output to have a chance.

 

Because Manny was unwilling to sell out, he was gun shy.

Why could Hatton and Maidana make a fight of it with Floyd? Because they were better than Pacquiao? Or because they actually took some hard shots from Floyd and kept coming regardless?

Pac, for all the HYPE, backed off. He decided to go the easy route, try to out-box Mayweather looking for the big shot, and cash his check. You guys are blind. I thought Pac would go for it at some point. He didn't.

Why should Floyd take the risk in a fight he was easily winning? That's Manny's job, he was losing. Mayweather even taunted him several times in the bout to punch.

 

To me Hatton's stock rose after this fight. His footwork was far superior to anything Pacquiao did against Floyd. At least Ricky tried to win and was not scared of getting countered. Pacquiao looked like he just wanted to survive and Roach's behavior in the corner was just bizarre. It was if they literally had no plan at all.

 

Floyd even taunted him to throw punches. Manny was scared to let go any time Mayweather was ready to fire back. The guy didn't even throw 40 punches a round FFS. MANNY PACQUIAO didn't even average 40 punches!!!!

These guys are blind. They (Pac Fans) cashed checks with Manny's chin, that Manny wasn't willing to cash.

 

It was strange. This wasn't the same Pac we've come to know. His speed seemed fine, he didn't look OLD to me, but the fact he started the fight flat footed standing right in front of Floyd was very weird. Just watch the oscar fight, Pac moving all over the place, but vs. floyd, he does the exact thing everyone knows you can't do, just stand in front waiting for Floyd to punch. Its the strangest thing, its like Pac beat Pac in this fight, he said he did his best but absolutely no way he did. He was a completely different fighter BEFORE floyd even landed a punch.

blah blah ... Floyd's style whooped Pac's style ... so you want to reasses the fight and introduce parametric variables for style ... I saw the fight. I don't need to be lectured on their styles to know Floyd schooled him. I agree with Froch, whom I only bring up because of his credibilty, experience and knowledge about boxing, that it was a "one-sided ass-whooping".

Also because he was very very defensive. He avoided the fight at any cost folks. He was afraid of engaging. Even his father told him that between the rounds.

Pac was poor, I agree; his footwork was bad and he should have tried more but Floyd was running and holding every time he was attacking hime. Floyd was scared of Manny's angles; in fact, go and watch again how many times Floyd was countered. Quite a lot relatively speaking.
Not just straight lefts but also right hooks inside.

Unfortunatelly for him, couldn't keep up the pace and lost all the round where he couldn't reach Mayweather enough.

The man who was supposed to be the aggressor was Pacquiao. Floyd fought Manny right there in the center of the ring for the most part. Manny was scared to open up. The only time Manny threw punches is when he was confident Mayweather couldn't fire back. Gun shy.

It wasn't Mayweather's job to sell out in a fight that he was easily winning. Easily, and safely. That was Manny's job. He was CLEARLY losing.

The guy was willing to try to box, look for one big shot to change the fight, and cash his check. He sold all you fans out and now he's making up excuses about his shoulder so he can milk you guys for more. Mayweather did what he always does. Pacquiao wasn't good enough, or was unwilling, to force him into a harder bout.

As I said: Hatton and Maidana took some big shots to get in their own work. Manny backed off and folded RIGHT AWAY IN ROUND 1!! Dude was looking for 1 big left, and a flurry. DREAMS, TOTAL FANTASY. That game plan would never work, and Manny knew it. Sold you all out. Gun shy and didn't want to risk going out on his shield.

 

Didn't you do a ban bet with someone? At least use an alt man. Or are you like your idol now, a dishonorable opponent?

 

Once again, where was this ass whooping? Floyd didn't BEAT pac, he outpointed him as if this was an amateur fight or sparring session. Pac had a completely ridiculous gameplan from the opening bell before Floyd even threw a punch, since when does pac stay flat footed like that? Where was that footwork gone that pac is notorious for. I would have believed had he said he hurt his ankle or something instead of that shoulder claim. lol
And truth is, Pac did more damage than floyd did, his punches made more impact, Floyd had a couple small welts on his face, nothing really on Pac's. And floyd didn't really land that many clean punches, many of them were blocked they were crediting him with, but yes, Pac landed even fewer and amazingly threw fewer.
