Some people kept complaining about Bayless prior to the fight, yet post fight, I haven't heard a word on him. Was he a factor or difference maker like you or others expected?
Yes he was also a factor the way he allowed mayweather to clinch was out of order he should of taken points
I don't think he was a factor at all. I don't know what the numbers were but it didn't appear that Floyd held any more than 10-15 times. I think Bayless even warned him for some stuff early. Pac just didn't fight like he wanted to win. Looked more like a sparring session.
Not at all, manny doesn't have much of an inside game either and stares at the ref whenever there's a clinch. Floyd tied up often but that's his advantage against a dangerous guy like Pacquiao. Not the most exciting thing to do but it's effective and it's Floyd. Bayless did warn him a few times if I remember, not exactly Wlad territory or even Maidana 2.
mayweather was holding for dear life everytime Pac was trying to get of on him he was also twisting his arm and leaning on him with his weight
No, the Mosley fight was Mayweather holding on for dear life in round 2. If what you thought you saw was 'holding on for dear life', which round was that? Pac caught him with a beautiful counter in 4 and he wasn't even doing that then. Pacquiao was desperately avoiding engaging for fear of getting a hard right counter if Mayweather was doing what you claim, just admit he didn't trouble Floyd.
Home ref, home judges, home turf, and Floyd still looked as scared of Manny as his kids probably are of him.
I said the same thing in another thread. I will be surprised if it was more than 10. Pacquiao lunges very awkwardly and could have easily caused a head-butt. I tell you the hate is real, smh.
Kenny Bayless was excellent in this fight. I thought he broke up the action too much in the Maidana fight. Here, he let them fight out of the clinch as long as an arm was free. He also took control whenever any nonsense started to creep up. This was a relatively clean fight and Bayless did A+ work out there.
I didn't think he had a good performance, he allowed Floyd to initiate clinches offensively in the early rounds which doesn't give Pacquiao a chance to work at mid-range/inside. Not that I think it would have changed the outcome of the fight or anything like that but that's something I hate seen being allowed in today's boxing (in general), I expected a warning at least.
Don't know why everyone talks to much about clinching, it was quite a clean fight. There was a bit more clinching later on but even then it was nothing compared to the average fight.
For the first 3 or 4 rounds Floyd "fought" like Floyd. He ran & grabbed held on like a limpet. On 2 or 3 occasions Bayless had to bodily drag him off. Any warnings though??? Not a one. Then Bayless went over to Mayweathers corner said something & the holding eased up I don't know if Manny's shoulder was injured if so why was he denied pain killing injections when everyone knows Mayweather uses Xylocaine?? But there again That's Floyd. I must say that though Floyd did legitimately win the fight I think Manny won over the crowd. When a supposed superstar's HOME TOWN CROWD boo and jeer him he's not doing something right. The way the crowd were I think Vegas let up on the Floyd bias. maybe that's what Bayless said to Floyd & made him ease up.
