Let's get some things out of the way, Pac is past prime, Floyd past prime, but had this fight happened 5-6 years ago the loss would have been far wide, as Floyd's footwork has slowed down a bit since then and he is less mobile. Pac had a shoulder injury, Mayweather as injured hands... Pac did everything he could do to win, when he was able to, he cut off the ring, he was aggressive in the early rounds, he tried to suffocate Floyd and get him in the pocket and keep him there. But Floyd was and is better, not taking anything away from Pac, he is an ATG, just at the end of the day Floyd is a superior boxer and demonstrated it clearly. Whether your a Floyd hater or not ask yourself Floyd hater or how Pac had Floyd on the ropes literally, whaled on him for an extended period of time and did not land an effective hit?.... Defensively that is all you need to know and see..... I am grateful that I as able to see two ATG share the ring, where one obviously was the better fighter and won, that is not to say Pac is not a champ. Pac did everything right, lets be real here, he just lost to a more skilled boxer...... All this BS about how Pac should have won blah blah blah, it is not surprising as what happens you have people watch mega fights that never really watched boxing or were "casual" fans, that had no clue.
We have no idea who would have won 6 years ago. Floyd's legs were like magic back then. And Pacquiao's stamina was incredible back then.
The guy didn't deliver. Straight up. Said he was going to bring all this pressure, all these angles, all this power... HYPE!!! Dude threw less punches than Mayweather. Manny clearly wasn't willing to pay the price of admission to make Mayweather change his style. (Floyd WILL land punches, period) Ricky Hatton's and Marcos Maidana's stock just went up in my book. Both men were willing to walk through fire to try and get work in on Floyd. Manny was not.
Man pac musta done something right if floyds biggest nut riders are saying 116-112 against a one handed shot bum
Pac fought like the Dog that he is. Hardly threw any punches. Hesitated because he was afraid of KO6. And he has the nerve to say he won. Phoney. Overated. No clas. No he becomes the opponent for the rest of the division.
Hitting air holes all night is not an incredible fight. Pac throws a 6 punch flurry.. HITS NOTHING! Air! lol
the problem is when some say 'Floyd schooled Pac' or 'Floyd dominated'. It's all a matter of perspective but do you think Tyson, Mosely and Holyfield are just stupid and don't know boxing when they say they thought Pacquiao won? Clearly, most don't agree with them but there is a reason why they feel this way. They are most likely not fans of floyd's style and don't think Floyd should win some rounds that he usually wins, when he barely does anything but run. This fight wasn't, by far, a dominating performance by Mayweather. It was a great defensive performance but offensively, Floyd was underwhelming. The problem is that Pacquiao was even more underwhelming because he was expected to throw a lot more, attack more. Pacquiao came far short of what was expected from him but Floyd did what was expected from him. A dominating performance would've been Floyd landing bigger shots, using more offense and hurting Pac more; possibly winning by TKO. The fight was 116-112, the 118+ scores for Floyd were ridiculous, he did not dominate this fight.
A one handed bum who was pointing behind his back to his shirt at weigh in, a one arm bum who was taking seflies in ring entrance walk huh? In my cousin Vinny voice, "You sure about that bum shoulder"! Point is Manny had the excuse covered and laughed (literally) to an $80 million payday. Hilarious!
