Do you guys think that it's time for Roach and Manny to part ways?

What do you guys think? I feel like Roach has taught Manny everything that he can possibly teach him. They've become so close that it's hard for Roach to slap Manny around and be hard on him anymore...

Manny should join up with Roger Mayweather, they would compliment each other quite well IMO. Both are great offensive minded people.

No not unless Manny retires. Roach knows Manny best

It won't happen. No more than Manny will part ways with Bob Arum. And obviously that won't happen either.

The only way they might part is if Roach tells Manny to retire because he's slipped too much but Manny fights on way past his prime, or if Roach's condition gets much worse and he has to step back from actively training anymore. Both are possible, but they aren't going to part ways for any other reason at this stage

    Actually, yes!

I think Freddy gave Manny a false sense confidence by telling him that "Floyd's legs are shot."

The first rule of combat: never underestimate your opponent.

Manny seemed to be unprepared for Floyd's ability to use his legs, to get him out of trouble.

Manny took Floyd WAY too lightly.

In contrast, it was obvious that Floyd was more than prepared, very focused, and took the fight with Manny very seriously.

I'm a Pac fan, but Floyd earned the win.

Roger wouldn't have told him that "Floyd's legs are shot" -- giving Manny a false sense of confidence.

    Won't happen though.

    Manny's very loyal to Freddy.

I think Manny should retire. And I've always suspected Roach will retire soon after....

This should have happened right after the Marquez KO. Same time many fighters, like Khan, left Roach...Manny should have jumped ship too. Roach himself once said that Manny already knows everything he can teach him.

However there aren't too many options for Manny to go. Most trainers would simply try to change his style, which won't work this late in his career. Manny doesn't need a teacher, just someone that will give him good advice in corner and come up with a decent gameplan. My advice is ROY JONES! Jones always seems to appreciate and understand Manny in the ring, they were both similar in being very athletic fighters...he really understands were Manny is coming from.
