The way they went on at the press conference was as if they knew they would lose the fight and had spent more time preparing the alibi.

Even IF it is correct, and Pacquiao undergoes surgery, and everybody who bought PPV is sent a copy of the medical report.... it is still a sorry excuse. Fighters have fought with worse injuries and won and lost. If Floyd beat you with your shoulder torn or your neck broken, you still stepped into the ring. You still lost. And the injury doesn't explain your footwork being sloppy, straight and predictable because you were puzzled.
