He has wins over prime versions of Corrales, Maidana, Hatton and Cotto.

And wins over Pacquiao, Marquez, Mosley and Castillo when they were faded.

    Not that bad.

But not enough to be up there with the legends.

In comparison Pacquiao has wins over prime versions of Barrera, Marquez, Bradley, Cotto, Sasukul, Ledwaba, Hatton, Margarito, Clottey, Hatton.

And he stopped Erik Morales who of course was shot to pieces at that time.

That's what an ATG resume looks like.

You sure top 30. Boxing has a very long history. Is top 30 doable with Diego Corrales as your best win?

    How was Castillo faded?

And how do you leave off Genaro/Baldomir/Judah/DLH/Manfredy/Canelo but include Ledwaba/Sasukul/Clottey?

Wow you talk about prime fighters for Floyd, whom you tried to diminish by the list, than you list Pac's opponents like they were in their prime? Let's see

Cotto after he was demolished by Margarito
Hatton after he was destroyed by Floyd
Margarito after he was destroyed by Mosley and exposed as a cheat
Mosley after he was schooled by Floyd
Marquez, Floyd fought him too and schooled him coming off vacation
Clottey a litmus test for ATG? Really!?

WTF. That's called waiting on the sidelines. Just because Pac padded his record with these names at a time when they weren't at their best doesn't impress. No way is Pac higher ATG than Floyd. Just NO! That was cemented Saturday when Pac could do no better than 8th best on Floyd's opponent list.

You're right. Genaro is an often overlooked victory by Floyd. Probably because that so early into his career. It was a pretty solid win that people forget about. I put that in the same category of Manny's victory over Sasukul. Really solid wins that are forgotten.

But the second fight I felt like Castillo was a little faded. As was DLH.

Canelo is pretty good, but let's remember that Sasukul was an extremely dangerous flyweight. And Ledwaba was a 40-1 favorite over Manny. So I don't put Canelo in that category.

Pac took on 3 ATG's at the apex of their careers. I won't list them because you know who they are.

Clottey did beat Corrales. Who is the best man on Floyd's resume.

Fighters can come back from knockouts early in their careers. Cotto was knocked out by Margarito in his mid 20s. It's easy to bounce back then. He was prime.

You look at his career being undefeated over so many weight classes and pfp for so many years and I think a good case is made for him being around thirty or so.

Completely true. So hard to compare across eras, which is why I don't do it personally. I can only judge who was the best of their respective time.

Any accurate list has to break boxing up into at least 2 eras, with the splitting point being WWII. Even then, you can make arguments about all kinds of changes (HW division used to use 8oz gloves, 15 round fights, no super/light weight divisions, being able to punch a guy trying to get up, etc)

Morales was beat by Raheem before Pac beat him. So NO, I'm having trouble accepting Erik was in his prime.

Barrera I. Definitely Pac's best fight. Can't take anything away.

I'm struggling for the 3rd because I don't have your list memorized.

The only other would be DLH on my ATG list. Sorry, that guy was drained coming into the fight weighing less than Pacquiao. Try competing dehydrated. I did once when I fougth 2 weights under my division in wrestling. I had absolutely no power at all and felt like I wasn't in the fight. Draining is real.

Can you explain to me why Castillo was faded? He fought one time in between the first and second fights and scored a KO in round 3. After the second fight JLC went on to do the best work of his career, including the moments he is most remembered for.

In his next 6 fights, JLC scored victories over Lazcano, Diaz, Casamayor and Corrales and lost only the Corrales war.

Morales was prime when he beat Manny. He showed chin, power, footwork, accuracy, heart, technique.

I never said Pac beat prime Morales. Reading Comprehension..... I said he faced prime Morales. Which he did.

And Marquez is the other ATG.

Floyd easily Top 30/40 - Over time he will get pushed up. He's far from the GOAT.

You may be right. I'll have to go back into Castillo's career for more insight.

Top 30 when Floyd should and could still be fighting at 140? Yes (Though Corrales is not his best win)
