Thinking about it, this is probably the most appropriate way for their rivalry to end

Floyd will not go down his history as the greatest boxer in my opinion and nor will Pacquiao. They will just go down as PED cheats who drank Ariza shakes.

The greatest boxer of that last 20 years is none other than Joe Calzaghe. :deal

No, it wasn't ALL on Pacquiao to make this fight special. It was Mayweather AND Pacquiao. I get Floyd has a boring style, but he said up coming to the fight that he just wanted to make a great fight that made the fans happy.

They both straight up lied. Pacquiao tried in spurts, but whenever things would get exciting, Floyd would clinch him. You can't FORCE someone to FIGHT. Manny could have if he was busy enough to put himself up on the scorecards, but according to him, he is inhibited to do so.

Either way, partial fault on the lackluster of it all is also on Floyd.

Like Manny said, "He didn't do nothing. All he do is run."

That's fine for Floyd. It'll win him the fight, but it won't win him the war when it comes to history. Floyd really had a chance to prove something, change people's mind about him and even boxing, and he came out and did the same boring dance. I'm highly disappointed in both of them.

yeah, maybe Mayweather vs Pacquiao May 7, 2016? 50-0, Maricano's record? Manny will be good by Dec at the earliest.

He's not even the top 3 European boxer of the last 20 years dude....

Maybe top 5, but not the greatest.

    That's boxing.

If Floyd deviated away from his gameplan and how he fights, we wouldn't see the best Floyd, right?

    It's a two way street.

Floyd brought his best game and beat Manny badly.

Literally shut him out and Manny was befuddled in there. 81 hits in 12 rounds. Zzzz

Dude. Two judges had it 116-112, you consider that losing badly? That also considering that they gave most of the close rounds, a 115-114 or a 114-113 card would not be unreasonable. Definitely close enough to warrant a rematch. I definitely rather see that than a fight with Khan, or Thurman. Pac rematch interests me more than any other fight for Floyd. Perfect swansong fight for Floyd, a chance to go out 2-0 against Pac.

It was 9-3, one of the judges had it 118-110, which was also fair.

Floyd already proved who was the better fighter.

And even if Floyd beats him the second time, they'll just make another excuse.

"Pac came back from surgery" :|

We saw what happened in fight #1, it was a very very very convincing win. One that is not controversial in the least (As results go) that is.

I'm not talking about excuses, I just want to see a rematch.

But what you don't understand is that there's really no incentive besides MONEY for the two fighters. We saw who was better, everyone in the world saw it (Well those were watching).

There was no controversy in the least.

Pac was beaten, and beaten very decisively.

I'd rather watch a fight where Floyd has a chance of losing.

Which I think was incorrect. But that's neither here nor there.

That still wasn't the best Floyd. He still looked past-prime. The best Floyd still should've put on the best fight. This fight was so similar to when Morales outboxed Manny, but, unlike Mayweather, Morales literally stood in front of Pacquiao in the 12th round and said, "I'll give you a chance to knock me out and win. Go at it."

THOSE are the fights that will be historic. Not the piece of s*** we saw. I mean, how horrible is it that every time you fight, the crowd boos? It's killing the sport man. Mayweather is the face of boxing, and he is killing the sport. When casuals think of boxing, they think of Floyd, and they think of his fights.

It's sad man. It's really sad. Where did the Mexican warriors go...

Floyd from 2009 would have done a similar boxing job on Pac. Nothing would have changed.

I always knew you never liked Floyd, it's clear now.

He has nothing to prove and he'll be retiring soon.

So you won't have to be watching him, since that's what you want.

I want him to retire as well. Nothing more he needs to give to us fans. He's fought for 20 years now (well technically 19), and he's been slipping for a long time now.

So might as well just let him retire. Don't want to see him turn into another Ali, Tyson, SRR, Duran, etc who fought way past their primes.
