Good comparison. I think it's hard for fights of that magnitude to live up to the hype. Styles don't always mesh well and create fireworks and when you get guys at the top level fighting eachother they're going to try and implement gameplans that will secure the w. Unfortunately it doesn't always entertain the fans. There are still technical aspects that you can enjoy. But i get putting a 100 dollar pricetag on a ppv that doesn't live up to the hype is going to dissapoint people.

No excuses. Pac took the PPV money and underperformed.

Being a warrior for a $100m check, instead of canceling the fight, is nothing to brag about.

Didnt Ward fight with a similiar injury for about a decade?

It seems to be the type of injury that is an aggravation, but not totally debilitating

On the surface of things you would say Mayweather/Pacquiao was a bigger flop due to years of hype and the magnitude of the fight.

But if you really look at it you have a 38 year old Mayweather who despite still being a superb boxer is clearly declining and a Manny Pacquiao who was brutally KO'd and is far removed from the animal he was five years ago.

So I guess if we take everything into consideration De La Hoya/Trinindad was a bigger flop as both fighters were in their absolute primes.

this is not an excuse thread. Floyd won that fight fair and square (well except for the hugging which is illegal and he should've been warned and deducted a point). it wasn't Floyd's fault Pac's camp went through with the fight and didn't disclose the injury with the officials. but damn, an injured Pac took 4 rounds from Floyd? hahaha

I use to respect him but what he has done to the fans and people who paid money is sickening.

He fought on because of the money

Pacman, apparently all about the money. Goes into the ring at a huge disadvantage because he'd rather collect the pay than put on a good fight and have a chance to win.

Looks like Pac had bad injury going into the fight he should of had the decency to give the fans his 100% best.

This is not Floyds fault Pac is this stupid he did what he had to do.
