There was no need to cancel. His injury healed enough and he had a doctor's clearance. This is why they checked no on the medical questionnaire. It's online if you want to see it. Then they tried to get "pain killers" 90 minutes before a fight for that same injury (SHADY). He then reaggravated the shoulder injury in the fourth. ALIBI for fighting injured the rest of the fight!

Then he should have postponed the fight. Either way it's bad. If you go in the fight of the century against the best in the world at 50%' instead of postponing it, then it's just as bad. He put money over boxing.

funny that I never hear this same sentiment when talking about Mayweather and the first Castillo fight.

Fighters fight injured. Floyd does it every time because of his hands.

There are 0 people on earth who will jeopardize a $100+ million check because of that injury. Stop being unrealistic.
He gave it his best shot given the circumstances

Pac was hurt during training camp. Sparring was paused. He felt better and thought it would be fine for fight night. And it probably was during the weigh in. But also remember that raising your arm in celebration is quite different and 1000% less stressful than trying to punch while pivoting.

The fight was a rolling juggernaut. Pulling out of it would have been catastrophic. Also, if I were Pac, I would have done the same thing. What if the injury ends my career? That's 100 million down the hole.

Dude thought he could pull through with the injury... that takes courage in a combat sport. NSAC should have given him the shot because it does NOT enhance performance.

Pac comes out bad any way you look at it. If he went into the fight uninjured, then don't make excuses about why you lost. If he went into the fight injured then he lacks integrity because he sold the fight on him being at his best. Pac may have (re)injured his shoulder during the fight but he sure didn't show any signs of it and there was no mention of it after the fight until he had a chance to confer with Arum and Roach. All of this c rap after the fight hurts boxing more than that lackluster fight we saw on Saturday.

Then you keep your mouth shut about it. You don't fight and grab the check, then use it as an excuse. Unbelievable that anyone is okay with that.

Understand that I understand that you support him and that's fine. And what he did is okay to do if you're fighting Algieri, Rios, etc. not against Money. Nah man.

I think most people who realized the size, and reach advantage that Floyd enjoys knew it would be one sided.
bigger beats smaller. defensive skills beats limited come foreward swing hard offense. Imagine what the Marquez wars with Manny would have looked if Marquez had such a size advantage

Pac thinks he won....so I'm not sure he's using it as an excuse. I think he's just telling the truth about the status of his shoulder and how that status impacted his performance.

Yes, it was a fake fight.
    We all saw that.

The only doubt is whether Pacquiao was in on it, or is just so far gone or inferior that Mayweather could "carry him" without Pacquiao's mutual co-operation to do the same.
    I'm not sure.
I saw Pacquiao backing off at times too. But I'm not sure.

It's the same as what Jack Johnson and Sam Langford and all those great old-timers used to do, travelling around the country, agreeing to "fake" and "carry" the opponents, move to the next city and fight the same guy again. They didn't need to bust each other up every time out. They made good money.

every so often, the "handcuffs" would come off, and they'd go at it for real.

Of course, those guys were struggling to make livings, and had hundreds of fights, and faced arrests and prejudice and whatever, and often still ended up broke and punch drunk.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are just being greedy.
