Those built-in signatures annoy me. Not that manufacturers pre-load them, but that users just kind of shrug and say "yeah okay, I'll let every message I ever send contain that instead of taking a moment to change settings" :!:
My baby mama has it on her work emails, "sent from my iPhone". Every time. It just seems unprofessional to me. Like, a lot of people reading your emails are in their 60's and 70's and they probably don't appreciate you rubbing in their face how young and hip and keyed into new tech (which they'll never understand before they die) you are.
Roy also beat Tarver fair and square. Who's said that Tarver II had anything to do with the weight? Tarver deserves a lot of credit for his rematch win. He caught him with a great shot. But you can't alter the fact that Roy was 35, and had fought 50 times. His reflexes had slowed a little, with even Buddy McGirt (who trained Tarver) commenting that he thought Roy was on the slide.
:deal A joke of a HW would not have been able to have beaten Evander. These guys talk as though Ruiz was domestic level.
At least the "sent from my iPhone" isn't as in your face as some of these... "sent from my Toshiba DKT-2020S Smartphone with build in hands-free and voice recognition technology. Now available for the low, low price of $299.99 at a BestBuy location near you"
What about the bums he fought at LHW? Julio Cesar Gonzalez? David Telesco? Derrick Harmon? Clinton Woods?
Didnt Juio Cesar Honzalez beat Darius after losing to Jones and became lineal LHW champ wow what a bum
This is a good article from the period that sheds light on the Jones-Woods fight and just how carefully crafted Jones (and his oppoents) records were http://www.thesweetscience.com/article-archive/2002/296-woods-faces-jones-jr
And another one by Steve Kim on ESPN. Same topic just more detailed. Keep in mind I am no fan of Steve Kim (or his idiot buddy Dougie Fischer) but this is very interesting from that time period. http://a.espncdn.com/boxing/a/2002/0904/1427223.html
Look at who both guys fought, and allow for all circumstances. How does Hopkins have a better resume? The only advantage he holds over Roy, is his great longevity that deserves an enormous amount of respect. But he hasn't achieved as much, he wasn't as dominant as Roy was in his prime, and Roy started out at JMW. Also, Bernard shrunk himself down to MW, when he could have fought better fights at SMW, and at LHW earlier than he did. His MW run was poor as a whole, with only a few very good-great wins. Not also forgetting, that it would never have happened had Roy not moved out of the division. Bernard has also admitted that he could have gone to LHW much earlier than he did. He only went up to LHW when Roy was finished at the top level, and Tarver had dropped an awful lot of weight after the Rocky movie. He hired Mackie Shilstone to prepare him for Tarver, and Mackie said that they expected Tarver to be flat after the weight loss. With regards to their first fight in 93, Bernard was 28, and Roy was only 24 with a fractured hand. So it was a very good win.
