Guess you didn't catch Murray/Martinez or Geale/Sturm. GGG turns good fighters into punching bags. What's your prediction for Geale/Cotto?

I was being sarcastic. People will talk about Canelo and Cotto but once GGG beats them they'd quickly dismiss them, it's been happening even with GGG's past opponents.

"Oh Macklin is the first true test!!" - GGG demolishes him.

"Oh Geale will show if GGG is the real deal or not!!" - GGG demolishes him.

It's going to keep going on and on.

Hahaha okay okay, gotcha. My apologies for the curtness.

It's the way it goes because guys like smokinjoe here have an unhealthy obsession with the 'names' that HBO/Showtime ram down their throats.

If he crushes Canelo and Cotto they will be quickly explained away as blown up small men (even though Canelo is already entering the ring heavier than GGG). You know a guy is good if a much bigger Ward is the only realistic fight you can make and not favor GGG in.

Guess we'll see. It will be very competitive. Geale is good.

GGG looks like a great fighter to me.

He has 1 punch KO power, and even though he can be considered a knockout artist now, he's very savvy in the ring, always composed and takes his time to break his opponents down.

Him having such an extensive amateur background just lets me know he has more than enough ring experience where he's probably seen every style there is to see in boxing.

He's kind of in the same conundrum that Floyd was when he was younger- he's way too high of a risk fighter who doesn't bring enough reward to the table. If HBO could ever make this guy a PPV fighter, than top notch competitors in his weight class would be forced to fight him.

Personally, I'd rather see him just go to 168 and be able to get matches there with some of the big boys instead of taking on these "stay busy" fights with the hope that the top dogs in the MW will finally consider unifying with him.

In his last paragraph he's talking about GGG fighting the 'big boys' and you still credit him for a good assessment lol. That's exactly what i said change weight class and fight a big boy, yet you just said to me 'names names names, stop listening to hbo, im a casual fan etc etc'....

Because he didn't say the only way he's good is if he beats Floyd (fight will never happen) or Ward (if Andre can even make SMW at this point). He cleans out the rest of SMW. You didn't say what he said, you said he's only fought cans and you're wrong IMO. And yes, you do appear to be a casual fan.

He fights 4 times a year in order to raise his profile and stay in top condition. Did I say every one of his opponents is a monster? No. But he fights every top MW who has the stones to step in the ring with him. If his next 4 fights at MW could be Cotto/Quillin/Lee/Canelo he'd do it in a heartbeat. But it's not that simple. Btw, Geale and Murray are on Quillin and Lee's level.

I have no issue with GGG wanting to unify the division before moving up.
