There's a difference from having a severely inflamed shoulder and having a veritable tear in one of the 4 muscles that comprises the rotator cuff structure. If he had a true tear BEFORE the fight, he wouldn't have looked the way he did inside the ring. His arm would've been dangling by his waist-side, almost in a paralytic state.
