So I guess you are suggesting that Morales and Barrera(the only guys you can possibly be making this claim based on, whereas Marquez is a common opponent of both Floyd and Pac) would be more difficult fights for Duran than Corrales, Castillo and Alvarez.... Ok.

Yes I am suggesting that, and Marquez is a common opponent but certainly not a common opponent in terms of facing him in his prime. Do you disagree?

Because Duran wouldn't be able to squeeze down to 112 or 122, so, yeah, sure...

Floyds' resume and opposition at 147 and up is far, far better than Pacquiao's. And Duran would be more susceptible to a loss the higher up in weight and age he goes from his prime 135.

You think 126 pound Marquez would have a better shot at beating Duran than 147 pound Marquez?

Manny wasted Cotto and Margarito when they were hot.

Floyd didn't want to know about them then - make of that what you will.

Not sure where 112 to 122 comes into it. Manny fought Barrera at 126, then Marquez at 126, then Morales at 130 3 times, then Barrera and Marquez at 130 again.

I think 30 year old Marquez has a better shot than 35 year old Marquez in his first fight at 147.

And I'm not suggesting Duran could make 126 or 130. But if we're talking hypotheticals MAB, JMM and EM are better fighters than Corrales and Castillo.

I defend both Floyd and Manny, just trying to ****yze this objectively even if it's an imperfect comparison due to the weight.

Luv Duran. But, Duran could be hit and sometimes didn't train properly. Duran, could deal with speed that good either.

Couldn't deal with speed that good. Srl and Wilfred Bentiez come to mind.

Well that suggestion is simply opinion...one I disagree with. Canelo Alvarez is just about in the prime in his career, and will prove to be the same caliber of fighter as Morales and Barrera in my eyes. He fought Floyd at a young and ripe age. Coralles was top 3 P4P overall, undefeated, and one of the hardest punchers in boxing P4P at the time he fought Floyd. Erick Morales and Barrera were not even close to their primes when they fought Manny. Both of these guys were at the tail end of their careers. Castillo wasn't in his prime against Floyd, but wasn't on the way out either.

Prime or no prime with Marquez, the same EXACT result would have occured against Floyd if he had been in his prime. So, that argument is a bit moot to me. An even older JMM 2 or 3 years later KTFO'ed Manny and every fight they had was disputable. Also, lets consider that when Floyd fought many of the recent premier names on his resume he was far removed from his prime as well. So the prime argument goes both ways.

Completely disagree Canelo will prove to be MAB, EM, JMM level. I have never rated Canelo as highly as many others and felt his P4P ranking was egregious. Certainly a believe his punching power is far overrated. Corrales was a very good fighter but is also not MAB, JMM, EM level.

I agree that Floyd goes through Manny's resume at 130 as well. We're just talking about which version is a tougher fight for Roberto, prime JMM moving up to 135 or past prime JMM moving up to 147?

I'd favor Duran over Floyd's resume. Duran is better than all of them. I do think it would be more likely for Duran to show up unprepared for a particular fight than Floyd and possibly lose that way.

Also Duran was 30 or 31 when he moved above 147 so the fights would have to have occurred more quickly. I'm not sure what a 38 year old, 147lb Duran looks like. Probably not good.
