After the fight, i was confused, like 'huh' WTF just happened.. Many things about this fight seemed strange to me

    1. Pac's output and tactics. For a guy known to have such a high output through decades, 430 for 12 rounds was a very strange stat. It cannot be solely explainable by Mayweather's defense. Pacquiao could've easily thrown north of 800 punches in this fight and he knew work rate was going to be key. Pac said he aggravated the injury on round 4 but round 1 is baffling to me. Pac did little in round 1; what tactics were these?

    2. injury. Pac supposedly had an injury prior to fight. The extent of it, is a mystery. We know that Pac camp requested a shot for the pain but apparently, it was denied. Michael konz, apparently checked 'NO' to a injury question in a pre-fight questionnaire, why? A sparring partner did confirm that Pac sustained an injury and surgeon also confirmed it but it's hard to ascertain how bad it was going into the fight. The strange thing is what transpired during the fight. Pac stated he aggravated injury in round 4 but he was clearly throwing his right hook after round 4.

    3. Floyd Sr. He was yelling at Floyd Jr. That was surprising to me, it's as if he wanted Floyd to be aggressive and throw more, at the risk of getting hit. This is uncharacteristic of Floyd Sr, who is usually quiet and advocates defense. After the fight, he seemed impressed with Pacquiao, even after his son beat him. Floyd Sr always stated that fight was going to be easy, that Floyd was gonna stop little Pac. I think he genuinely was impressed with Pac's strength and how Floyd couldn't bully him. I think he also got a glimpse of Pac's explosiveness, although it was far and few between. After fight, i expected him to say Pac was easy, a joke. Instead, he goes on to say Khan would be easier than Pac. It was strange to me.

    4. Pac coming in at 152, Floyd at 149. Everyone expected floyd to come in at 155 or higher and Pac around 145

    5. Pac's post fight comments. It was just weird to me. When he lost to JMM and Bradley, he was all class. He didn't even seem to contest the Tim B. robbery or complain much about it in post fight interview. He just stated this was boxing. When he got KO'd by JMM, he was humble about it and even laughed about it. After this loss, he was making comments that Floyd didn't do anything, that he was injured, that he won the fight. This was uncharacteristic of him

    6. Freddie Roach. He came into the ring looking like a zombie and in between rounds didn't seem to say much, strategy wise. He was just in a zombie like state, not even telling Pac he could be losing and needed a KO.

    7. Max Kellerman. He was quite rude to Manny. I understand Manny said he thought he won but Max should've understood that this was a huge loss and pac was in disarray. Max was out of character

    8. Floyd saying he'll fight Manny next year when he repeatedly stated he would retire after fight. Him saying Pac was better than he expected was also weird. What did he expect? a little pushover?

    9. lawsuits. I mean, now fans are suing Pac for allegedly concealing an injury and essentially robbing them of money they could've spent more wisely

    10. Mosely and Holyfield saying Pac won. Very strange cause these were guys that seemed to favor floyd pre-fight. I totally expected Skip Bayless to claim fight was close but these guys?

After the fight, was left baffled at what happened... Floyd himself, did little, IMO.

I kept telling everyone for FIVE YEARS, Pac takes a test, he will be ordinary. Pac's performance is reminiscent of world class sprinters who hold world records until they get busted. Then they are no longer competitive. Obviously I couldn't prove it but I have a hunch that's what was behind his lackluster performance. Floyd knows it too that's why he demanded testing five years ago. Floyd knows on a level playing field he will outclass anyone.

I'm not going to address every point because it's TL so I DR.

But no one expected Floyd to come in at 155 or higher, only Pac****s. Everyone knew it was going to be around 148-152 at the highest.

He was 148 vs Maidana during fightnight.

    2. GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Pac****ed bias comments.

    3. Deal with it

    48-0
    TBE
    TBE
    48-0
    PAC 0-1 MAY
    MAY 1-0 PAC

    :deal:rofl

Ever thought the 5 years you mention is a contributing factor.

    36 is not 31.

Fighters can become shells of their former selves in that time span

That's an interesting point. Manny being flustered could be due to not having that extra kick. :think:huh

Sleeping on it, time will tell.

    I concur.

    1. Exactly. For a fighter to say the injury resurfaced in round 4 means little when he does jack **** for rounds 1-3, the most crucial rounds Pac needed to win to get a good start and put Floyd out of his comfort zone. He did nothing 1-3.

His punch output actually increased as the fight went on, another thing I found strange..

    3. Floyd SNR was just worried that those "flurries" pac was throwing was winning the judges over, and felt Floyd could have done more and not "fight scared" he knew Floyd could have done whatever he wanted to in there.

    4. It's easy to be gracious in Bradley 1...The whole world knew he won that fight. Also easy to be humble when yo get KTFO, not so easy when you get undressed by some one who"didnt do nothing"....It's only when we see him lose legitimately like Morales 1 and now Mayweather that we see hes full of excuses when things don't go his way.

    6. I too was shocked at freddy literally lifeless between rounds....Seriously how is this 7x (or w.e it is) trainer of the year!?

    7. Max Kellerman kept it real and pulled his card. Don't see anything wrong with calling Pac out. Keep in mind it took Pacs being out of character to throw Kellman off in the first place.

    10. Punch drunk.....

I didn't see the drop off against Algieri. Pac was faster than Algieri in both hand speed and foot work. I know Algieri is not elite but he's no pushover.

Floyd is no spring chicken himself. Look at what Maidana did to him. I don't think Floyd was any faster or more fleet footed than he was against Marcos. I think Pac was that bad and Floyd relatively looked much faster and quicker. It literally was target practice for Floyd. Pac wasn't hopping around on his toes. Tugging his shorts up. Darting in and out. None of that.

I can almost guarantee Pac will look sensational against his next opponent (unless it is Floyd of course).

The number thing I keep hearing in complaint of the fight is about how Pac didn't do anything. I hear this mostly from casual fans which I could understand but hearing from supposed hard core fans makes me scratch my head. I tried telling everyone before the fight that Pac's out put drops when he is out classed. I said if you wanna know what will happen, just take what happened in Pac-Cotto round 1 and multiply it by 12...that's exactly what happened. As matter of fact as I said I decided to look how many punches Pac threw of Cotto round 1.

It was only 41 punches as Cotto had him completely out classed and at a loss for what to do, multiply by 12 and you see it's almost verbatim what I'd said it'd be. The hype of Pacquiao should've ended that day, instead it exploded when a combination of factors including a rookie trainer, derailing, and a catch weight created by far the biggest and most fortunate fluke I have ever seen in boxing. Please people, let this go, Pac cannot come near beating Floyd, don't let them sell us a rematch. I beg of you.

There was a thread asking about if you lost respect for Pacquiao after this fight, well yes I did.

Why? Because is clear his great performances relied on PEDs.

I can distinguish between looking bad because you're shot / old and looking bad because you couldn't take your PEDs.

On the other hand, regardless if Floyd takes PEDs or not, he has true skills and that doesn't vanish overnight

    *Not a Floyd fan

The one thing I found odd is how nice Floyd and Manny were to each other in the fight, hitting their gloves apologizing, hugging, and just too friendly for a mega fight.

funny thing is, Floyd did little... Floyd didn't exactly look great either.

The drug comments are stupid.. Drugs don't turn you into an elite fighter. Margarito was taking PEDS, why didn't he dominate the division? heck, he was taking PEDs when he faced pac, PAC KILLED HIM.

PEDS DO NOT MAKE YOU beat the s h it out of Cotto, DLH, Hatton and others...how many fighters have taken PEDs and not even cracked any big bouts?

and why couldn't PED Pac kill JMM? oh, cause JMM was also on PED?

how about this - Flody Mayweather has ALWAYS been on PEDs, this is why he's dominated for so long. It's re****ed to use PED every time you can't accept a fighter you don't like doe what he does.

    I hear you man.

I had Floyd to win the fight, but not the way it panned out. Well, by decision. With Floyd winning by 2 rounds or so (as I believe he did in this fight, as Pacquiao threw the fight away after the middle rounds).

But, Pacquiaos output was outrageously low. As you said, I dont believe that had so much to do with Floyds defence.
He also threw very few left hooks or straight lefts when he had plenty of time to do so. It had me puzzled.

Where was the Pacquiao that bounces around on his toes and almost skips across the ring at his opponents. Now, people will say that this was because he was fighting Floyd. No, he has ALWAYS done this. But in this fight, nope. He darts in and out with combinations, readjusts himself (usually pushes his trunks down) and then gets back to business. There was none of this?

Then on Mayweather, I know he won. But I didn't think he would have given rounds away as easily as he did. In my eyes, Floyd looked very flat too. Both fighters looked very beatable on fight night.

Dear I say it, someone like Khan/Brook looked like they would have given either Floyd/Pac that night...

Floyd won the first 3 and the last 3 rounds comfortably. How often does that happen? I mean against the likes of an opponent like Pacquiao, Floyd usually starts slow and gives away a couple of early rounds to switch up and figure out a fighter. This time, it seems Manny figured Floyd out and took advantage of it.

Then I was surprised at how easily Manny stunned Floyd. That left hand didn't look to be that powerful IMO. I know he timed him coming forward, but it was nothing like the shot that Maidana hit Floyd with.

Following on from that, because that left hurt Floyd so easily, why did Pacquiao not go back to throwing it with more intent?

    ...

I dunno. It just seems strange. The whole fight was pretty meh...
