    Doesn't surprise me at all.

Pacquiao is an ATG. Canelo is merely a good fighter. a decent champ/titlisf.

I think Canelo would beat this version of Pacquaio, and Canelo in 5-10 years could be near the same level as Pacquaio prime.

Look at the progression of Pacquaio from what Canelo's age is to his age now. People forget that Canelo is only 24 and already is one of the more complete boxers around.

Pacquiao has speed and power early on, Canelo lacks the speed... he's somewhat limited.

Jesus lol, Canelo will never be in Pacs level, Pac would obliterate him now.

Canelo is flat footed, slow, not much power and poor stamina. He was effectively beaten by Cotto, no not that one the lesser known cousin. Canelo has made a career of fighting nobodies and some severely washed up has beens.

He's limited only against Floyd and Lara, both of whom I'd say would beat Pacquaio in his current state. Against other fighters he has great hand speed, really good footwork and his body attack is impressive, he's also got a hell of a chin to take punishment and is a big puncher at 147.

"Canelo will never be in Pacs level" - you mean the Pacquaio at 24 who was being knocked out by Singsurat? Let me guess "Can't possibly give any credit to Canelo because Floyd has already beaten him"

Bet you had he not faced Floyd already, you guys would be saying "Canelo is the guy who would beat Floyd". Predictable.

Canelo landed 117 total punches against Floyd, Pacquaio landed 81, so how did Pac do better again?:huh

lol @ thinking compubox members werent paid off or could keep up with Pacs handspeed, Floyd himself couldn't so how could a middle aged fat guy?
Pac rocked Floyd and forced him to fight poorly and scared, Canelo looked lost, Floyd did tee off on him, anyone with any boxing knowledge knew Floyd would pound the life out of flat footed gassed out midget Canelo

Would be a good fight and I would still give Manny a slight edge over Canelo if they fought.

    Exactly!

I think a case can be made for Canelo to have won as much as 5 rounds vs Mayweather. Pacquiao cant make such a case, rounds 4 and 6 are the only rounds Pacquiao won.

Canelo gave Mayweather a better fight.

You call Mayweather attempting to let Pacquiao punch himself out, rocking?

Look at those times where Mayweather put his hands at a high guard and Pacquiao went to punching, it was Pacquiao who backed off realizing he was'nt landing anything effective! :deal

More like when Pac staggered him and Mayweather used the ropes to prop him up, Pac started bombarding him the only problem as you could see was the shoulder. A guy who used to punch near 1k punches in a fight punched out? no, apparent that the medium straight left he threw was too much for his shoulder, imagine if it was a hook shot then not even the ropes could have propped him up

Canelo will be an afterthought 10 years from now, imo.

Canelos days as a premier fighter are numbered. Once he steps to middleweight and takes on real middleweight contenders, title holders, and its champion... he will be a win some lose some, exciting fan favorite type fighter, but the days of him being amongst the elite in his division will be gone.

    Just imo.

If you remember, before the Canelo foght everyone WAS saying Canelo is the guy to win. I remember this forum especially; everyone was giving Floyd props for just taking the fight - win lose or draw.

But once he won, that went out of the window
