I'm actually starting to feel quite bad about upsetting you this much, look at it this way man, once you come off the forum you're back to reality so you don't need to think about it anymore. It's only hilarious if you're an idiot(hardly surprising for someone with MMA in his username ). Styles make fights and Pacquiao fights nothing like Alvarez regardless of size.
Canelo does have the potential to be great. Canelo is still a bit raw but he's got great physical gifts, willing to learn and he does challenge himself and he's young which means he's got plenty of time to improve and go from very good to great. The reason Canelo did so bad against Mayweather due to horrible gameplan rather then anything else. The same reason why Pacquiao didn't do so hot against Mayweather.
Of course, he was expected to do better. But, he didn't do THAT much better. What's "hilarious" is that Maidana did better than both of them. Log off and kill yourself.
At the time yes. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. We forgot the "styles makes fights" saying even applies to Mayweather and Maidana had enough awkwardness, roughhousing and pressure to make the fights (especially the 1st one) tough for Mayweather. Maidana's team chose the right gameplan (not that they had a choice but still). Canelo and Pacquiao's didn't. This is why Maidana did better then both of them.
Indeed styles make fights. Trainers and fighters have the benefit of hindsight too. Manny did not have to be as dirty as Maidana. He just needed to be relentless. Mayweather is always given credit for being a slick, defensive boxer. But, he is a LOT tougher than given credit for. Fighters don't realize it until they get in there. By then, it's too late. He made Manny think about every move he wanted to make.
Canelo IMO did wayyy better than Pacman, I thought Manny won 2/3 rds at best Canelo at most 4. Alvarez bodywork was underrated in that fight and his activity in a few rds edged a couple for me. Manny got starched from the beginning. I think fans are just trying to save face Manny was one of the easiest Mayweather fight's in his career.
I think Manny won more rounds but Canelo boxed better and made Floyd think more I do think Canelo fought the wrong fight, had all these advantages in size and power and didnt apply them or get desperate when completely behind
