floyd always knew pac would be one of his easiest fights, he just wanted to cashout before his retirement. that was a very smart business move

I agree. Much like Roy Jones Jr & Bernard Hopkins was never a threat to Calzaghe 5 years before he beat them. :good

2009 Pacquiao was a potential huge threat to Mayweather. He was sharper, more explosive, hit harder and more importantly, he had the engine and desire to keep coming forward and throw 80-100 punchers a round.

Just look at the few times Pac committed last weekend and the trouble it gave Mayweather.

Your line about it being a good business move is all that is wrong with boxing today. No one should be commended for making a good business move that means fighting your best challenger five years later than you should have.

Boxers and promoters pull these "business moves" all the time. When us fans start commending them instead of castigating them for it then that will truly be the day when boxing is dead.

Problem is Pac is too small, too slow, too inaccurate. 2009 or 2015, he has no chance. Mismatch.

Smart business move? My ass! What if Pac had retired after the Marquez KO? Things worked out well, but it doesn't mean that it was part of some master game plan. Pac never getting KO'd means the fight never happened.

Everyone says you need speed and power to beat floyd, but I think that is secondary to the key attribute you need to beat him, determination. Pac never had the key attribute to beat mayweather, If he had that then he would have been willing to walk through hell to get to floyd on Saturday.

How do you walk through hell against a guy that's running 3/4 of the time, avoids trading, and is significantly taller and longer?

Maidana managed to do it, he forced floyd to stop in his tracks and fight back. Look how canelo dealt with Lara, it was close but he managed to find him enough to win. Everyone runs from golovkin, guess what golovkin does, he doesn't stop coming because he's determined. There are ways to deal with it.

Mayweather does what he always does (I don't enjoy it) but PAC was completely dissapointing, if he was determined he would never have let floyd get away, like maidana.

Pac was never a serious threat to floyd not even in 2009 and yet Floyd won a gift decision by winning 5 out 12 rounds in 2015.

ok. just disregard all those floyd alibi's and numerous videos just because he won a very defensive fight on a past prime pac. those who see pac now as the same in 2009 are just haters. pac's fighting style absolutely makes him decline faster. floyd won but not convincingly. he fought tentatively on an injured opponent.
